Description - Makeshift always tries to be something he's not.

Hidden within the shadows of the Decepticons stood a unique mercenary. The mech rarely revealed himself to anyone, only when his talents were needed. He went by the name of Makeshift, capable of shifting into any existing cybertronian imaginable. It was a pretty immaculate gift, although he didn't see it that way. Makeshift found his gift to be a curse, something that made him nothing but a tool for Megatron's dirty deeds. He would choose to follow his leader's commands willingly, but deep down he was ripped of his pride. He couldn't get over the fact that all everyone wanted out of him was to be something he's not.

As time went by, he begun to grow attached to that idea. He created his own persona's of deception, hiding under the mask that hid the corrupted soul that was his true self. He never believed anyone would want to see him for who he was, so he continued to shut himself out, allowing his other forms to grow existences of their own.

I have actually had a couple of encounters with him without knowing. That was because he was impersonating someone else during the time. Eventually I had learned of his existence and his advanced transforming capabilities. By then I could figure out it was him by the way he acted. He would sound enthusiastic at first and then start to get nervous if I started responding to him. I don't know why he had such an attachment to me. Maybe he had a thing for me, who knows. I decided to just accept it and try to get to know him better during the time he tried to spend around me.

It was a struggle to get him to talk about himself, but over time he opened up little by little for me. I learned that he was a hidden mercenary who's only job was to serve Megatron with certain tasks that required closer inspection such as becoming something that was less of a threat. He had pulled a lot of intel from Autobots from right under their enstrils without them even knowing he was a Decepticon. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. However I noticed whenever I tried to compliment him on his skill, his expression would change. He never took pride in his work for some reason. I had thought about confronting him about it, but I didn't want to make him upset. We were only starting to grow closer than acquaintances at that time.

A lot of the time the mech spent on the ship he would try to blend in with the crowd as a regular vehicon all incognito. Other times he would entertain himself by teasing the second in command or the other high ranks. One time he replicated the medic Knockout and paid him a surprise visit at the Medbay. You should of seen the look on his face. He was practically fawning over his own reflection only it was a living replica of himself. I have witnessed him in many impersonations, but none of which were his actual form. I wondered why he always relied on taking the looks of others when he could just be himself. That was the only thing running through the back of my mind whenever I was around him. Was he hiding something?

As close to friends as we were now, I had never gained the courage to seek the answers I wanted yet. It all remained dormant. I'm sure now that we were close enough he wouldn't mind showing more of himself. He knew so much about me that I felt it was unfair.

I was walking through the halls of the Nemesis as part of my routine to partrol the floor I was on. Not that many bots walked through here which was part of the reason I chose this area to watch. Another reason was that it was nice and quiet. Even when nothing happened down here, I could still hear the ruckus of whenever Megatron was dealing with his foolish vehicon troops from almost anywhere on the ship. I was glad I didn't have to witness his rage on a daily basis.

As I was distracted with my current thoughts, I was startled by the sound of pedes nearby. I stopped at my tracks and slowly turned towards the sound. The mass of the steps sounded big and oddly familiar. As I looked down a dark part of the hallway, the figure of the one behind the sounds revealed themselves.
