I sat there in front of the principal, who was starring at me intently, the whole office full of silence. Why is this principle even waiting for me to talk? it's not like I even know what happened! The silence continued for a few more moments before the principal spoke, "well, i never thought you would end up in my office. You were a good student, what happened to you?"
"Nothing." Is all I said as I looked out the large windows which overlook the massive field.
"Nothing? That fiasco down in the car park says otherwise." I could feel his eyes looking at me, trying to seep into my soul.
"Like I said, nothing." I said in a calm tone, still looking out of the window.
"Does your father know that you found your mate?" The principal asked.
Wait, what? Mate?! Is this guy insane!
"I don't have a mate." I stated plainly.
"Are you sure?" He asked again, god this man is not only persistent but awfully annoying.
"Are you kidding me, didn't I already answer your silly question?" I am becoming more annoyed.
"It's not silly kalani, it's a question to make you think. I'm sorry to say this but you have detention." He handed me a slip, "and don't worry kalani, I will make sure everyone knows it is just a misunderstanding, besides I can't even imagine the amount of pressure you are put under I just don't want to add to the stress." I nodded my head at the principal and left his office.
By the end of the school day I went into the detention room to see mrs. Jenkins. She smiled widely once she saw me and I smiled back.
I took a seat in the far back and started to count down the minutes until i get to go home.
At about 35 minutes in a guy walked in, wearing a leather jacket, like my own and a smile which could kill, "Mr. Thorn, I hope you have a good reason why you turned up to detention late!" Mrs. Jenkins said in a fiery tone.
The guy just walked to a seat, not even acknowledging mrs. Jenkins existence, after he purposely ignored her, she began to turn red. Then the room fell deadly silent, like my soul.
"Psh, hey!" Someone whispered.
I ignored it as I didn't think whoever was talking was directing it at me, "psh, hey!"
I looked up to see the ignorant guy trying to get my attention, "what!" I asked in a 'I don't care tone'.
"Wanna get outa here?" He said with a boyish grin.
"How about no?" I said in a not bothered tone.
"Ouch! Why you gotta leave me hanging? Come on, I need a get away buddy." He said pleading.
