Chapter 12 ~ once it gets bad, it gets worse

It's been a week since my awakening, it's been a week full of heartbreak. My heart is shattered everywhere and I don't know how to fix it. Allan had my heart, and as soon as I saw his lifeless body my heart went.

I haven't had the courage to tell lily about Allan let alone leaving my room, I've been curled up in my duvet covers the whole time, only appearing for dinner. I don't even know how to live anymore.

Despite this, lily has repeatedly tried calling me, my dads tried talking to me but I won't give either of them the time of day to talk to them, I just feel like if I talked to them I would just breakdown in tears. I can't even show my face to my people because of how heart broken I am. I am a mess!

I eventually came back to reality and heard a knocking coming from my door. I looked at the door and waited, "Kalani, it's me, Dorothy-" but before she could finish I spoke.

"Yeah, come on in." The last part sounding of what a whisper.

Dorothy creaked the door open, and once she saw me in my bed she swung the door fully open, running towards me and engulfing me in her tight hug, "oh dear girl, I know - I know it hurts, shhhhh, I promise it will all get better, ssshhhh." Dorothy said in her soothing tone as I sobbed into her apron.

"How can you be so , so sure?" I said before bursting out crying again.

"Because I know, and I know it will get better." She said now looking at me in the eye with her caring eyes.

I grabbed Dorothy into another tight hug and whispered, "thank you Dorothy, I don't know what I would do without you." I said smiling against her apron.

"It's ok dearest, I got to go and cook some breakfast, remember you have school today." she said with a sigh before getting out of my room.

I sighed before getting out my bed fully and into the bathroom. I took a relaxing bath before getting out and getting changed into some black jeans and my leather jacket and a top. After I quickly grabbed my bag that was resting at the end of my bed and walked out the door.

~at school~

I drove into the school parking lot and parked my car. I turned off the ignition and sat there, like I was waiting for something, maybe even someone. I sat there looking at nothing in particular. Before someone came and banged on my window.

I looked up to see lily standing there with a huge smile plastered on her face. I feel sorry for lily, I never told her, no one did. As far as she knows her brother is on an important business trip, somewhere nice and sunny I guess. Allan always did like the sunshine.

A second past and I felt a tear drop, I quickly swept it away and got out of my car, "hey k! How are you? It's been forever, wait! Why did you never answer my calls?" She looked at me with her questioning look.

I couldn't help it, the tears started to spill, within an instant lily was by my side comforting me, "hey, shhhh don't cry. Was it the council, did they not except your terms?"

I looked at my friend, how did I ever get a friend so caring as her, "yeah, something like that." I said before tears erupted again.

Something caught Lily's eye and I followed her gaze to see what she was looking at. There stood a girl, she looked so confident, so pretty, everything I'm not. She had long ginger hair, that flowed ever so elegantly. She was skinny and had curves to die for. She was standing up against a car which I presume was hers, I was quickly brought out of my thoughts by lily talking, "that is poppy, she's new."

I looked back at lily, "she's pretty." I said in a croaky voice, as I was crying.

I looked back and saw a car pull up nearby poppy. Of course it had to be Bianca getting out of the car, she walked up to poppy and hugged her, "turns out poppy and Bianca have a history." Lily stated.

I turned back around to her, she looked back at me and spoke, "gossip spreads quickly, duh!" She stated.

I couldn't help but giggle at her little 'duh' statement. I turned and looked behind me again as I heard another door open, and guess who came walking out the drivers side of Bianca's car. Well, it was non other than Leo!

I spoke aloud, "what's Leo doing here?!" I asked getting angry.

"he has just transferred and I am going to be the first to admit he is smoking, like literally he is hand made by the gods thems- wait you know him!" She said from admiring at him turning into a face full of shock.

"Duh! He's an alpha!" I stated.

"Okay." Lily said.

I concentrated back onto Leo and his sister Bianca. Leo started walking towards poppy and Bianca and out of instinct of a werewolf I growled. He got closer and closer to them before he stopped and looked at poppy. I started to feel tears break through again, I don't know why but I'm guessing it is because it reminds me of when Allan asked me out.

Poppy started getting my attention again when she started jumping up and down, and the next thing I knew is that she was hugging Leo. Then all of a sudden they......... kissed. That's it I was gone, my wolf was on full on anger mode, I don't know what started it but she was so angry, even I've never known her to be this angry before.

I started growling and I could faintly tell what lily was saying, "woah k! What the heck is wrong with you! K!" She asked frightened.

I never turned to see her reaction but I could feel her fear pouring off of her, "MINE!!!!!!" I screamed at Leo and poppy.

All I could hear was lily gasping. I charged at them, not caring about anything else but ripping this she wolfs head off. I could then faintly hear footsteps running towards me. Which was lily.

I quickly got to them and growled, "wow, someone needs to get her wolf under control." Bianca said. Poppy laughing with her. That's it!

I quickly picked up Bianca and shouted at her face, "don't you dare say that again!!!!!" I said before throwing Bianca into her car.

Poppy started cowering behind Leo and that made me even more peed off. I started growling in Poppy's direction and was so close to getting to her until the principal came outside, "what's all this commotion!" He said before he looked over at me, "KALANI JONES MY OFFICE NOW!!!!!!"
