Leo's POV
I've experienced a lot of things in life.
At such a young age I saw my best friend get slaughtered by a rogue, I saw my mother leave me and my dad without any compassion or love for what she had created and who she had loved, I first handedly witnessed countless wars, I've seen many empires crumble.
But none compared to what was happening right now.
My mate was laying unconscious with cuts and bruises littered all over her delicate body.
Just looking at her severe condition made me whimper.
I stroked her delicate brown hair as it cascaded down her chest. It didn't bother me that it was greasy; even though I would be appalled at the stench of the dirt and the greasiness of ones hair, but Kalani made it seem beautiful because she is beautiful.
Then I heard a cough from behind me.
I turned around to see alpha jones standing in the door way with a kind smile on his face.
"You should get some rest." Alpha jones pointed out.
I looked down at my gorgeous mate and back at alpha jones, "I won't leave her side unless she tells me too."
Alpha jones then smiled wider, "I know."
I looked at him confused, "then why did you ask?" I asked.
"It was a test." He said.
This captured my attention, which made me look towards alpha jones.
"You passed." He continued.
I let out a breath, knowing alpha jones supports me and Kalani is the best news I could hear but hearing Kalani one day say 'I love you' would beat that by far.
I indulged myself in the idea that one day me and Kalani could be together.
Our pups running around causing havoc. Me being able to tell her I love her and her saying 'I love you too'.
Everything I could ever dream about.
I then felt a dip besides me on the spare hospital bed, "what are you thinking about?" Alpha jones asked whilst looking at what I was looking at; which was Kalani.
I just smiled.
I could feel alpha jones gaze on me, "you really do love her, don't you?" He asked.
