I had pulled away from the comforting hug

I had pulled away from the comforting hug.

Not because I wanted it to stop; but because of him.

"What the hell is happening here?!" Leo shouted.

James looked over to Leo and glared at him, "nothing you need to be concerned about."

"Concerned?! I see you hugging my mate and holding her like I should?!" Leo continued to shout out.

"Calm down. She needed comforting and I willingly gave it to her." James explained.

Leo then chuckled a bit, "yeah, 'comforting her'."

"Would you just shut up!" I said, turning around to see a surprised Leo.

He then looked at me hurt, "why go to him, when you have me?" Leo now asked softly.

"Because I need a friend right now, not someone who constantly reminds me 'I'm your mate' and all that." I said honestly.

Leo then looked to the ground, "okay."

Leo then turned around and walked the other way.

I looked over to James who was staring at me, "want me to drive you home?" He asked.

"that would be nice." I whispered.

James then put his hand on my back and lightly pushed me in the direction of his car.

Once we got in he turned towards me, "what happened in the hospital room?" He asked.

That made me realise that he wasn't there when that happened.

"An angel appeared, dressed in white and all." I said.

James then let out a growl, "did he hurt you?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes, "of course not! He was just here to help make sense of my white eyes." I said.

This made James stop, and stare at my eyes.

His own eyes then began to open wider, "th-their white." He said completely shocked.

I put a hand on his shoulder, "don't worry, it's only my angel side healing me. It will clear up in a couple of days." I explained.

"It's not that-" james begun, "its the fact that I didn't even realise it." He said now looking at his hands.

"James-" I said which made him look at me, "don't sound so down, it's hardly something anyone would realise." I reassured.

He nodded his head as a response, and started to drive away.

The car journey was silent until about half way through, "we have school tomorrow." James pointed out.

I groaned, "please, don't remind me!"

And just like that, the car had fallen silent again.

The only thing which made a sound was the car as it sped down the highway.
