*THIS CHAPTER HAS BEEN RE-DONE WITH A NEW PLOT*

Before you start reading - I am re-writing the book and all of the re-written chapters will have this announcement on top. If there is none on the next chapter, please do not read it, since the plot will be off. :)

Panic rises in my throat. Why does he want me to stay? Marzia is going to kill me!

I look over to the girls, who look equally as confused as me, except Marzia, who looks - as predicted - pissed and angry. Without saying a word, she storms out of the room and doesn't say anything.

Sasha and Danielle look at each other and sigh. With that, they shoot me a look and exit the classroom, too. "We'll be outside, Addie." Danielle says just as she's walking out of the class, making me color in a deep dark red color. ADDIE? Really? Why did she have to call me like that in front of Mr.Bogdanovych?

I stare at the door with a scowl, but, when they close, I turn to Mr.Bogdanovych and my eyes meet his already familiar storming green eyes. "Yes, Mr.Bogdanovych?" My french accent sounds terrible when saying his last name, but he seems to like it since he starts to smile charmingly. Also, I feel my heart starting to race and my hands are sweating intensively, so I try to inconspicuously wipe them on the back of my black jeans.

"How did Mrs.Collister teach your class? Did she make you read some books yourself or did she just tell you everything about the book you need to know and then you wrote a test?"

No matter how weird it seems, I had not expected to hear a school-related question. Sure, he is my new teacher (substitute teacher), but it felt weird to be questioned about school by him. I'd much rather have him question me about something else, like, if I'm single or if I'm just kidding myself right now with these silly imaginations. He's a teacher.

"Umm..." I blink, suddenly losing my train of thought when he takes his coffee mug and takes a sip from it, never releasing me from his gaze. "She mostly told us about the writer, the, um, plot and showed us clips from the movie."

He puts the mug down on the table and leans back in his chair, crossing his arms, but still not releasing me from his hypnotic gaze. "And for tests we had to know the plot, the main characters, main themes and some facts about the writer. Sometimes she wouldn't give us tests, but we'd have to brainstorm about some questions on a blank page and she'd evaluate our opinions there." I feel my face heating up again, making me ashamed. Why can't I ignore his good looks and act as if he's just a teacher? Why does my heart want him exactly?

I've never really had a crush. He was the first one I have started to develop some kind of feelings towards, but he had to be a freaking teacher. Ugh, my life in a nutshell.

"Cool. Good to know that our teaching methods don't differ much. Thanks, Adèle." He winks and  I suddenly can't breathe anymore. Is he flirting with me? God, I hope he is

Do I have to go now?

"Is that all, Mr.Bogdanovych?" I ask, hoping that he asks about anything else. He looks at me and I feel like he's really thinking about something. Is it about the information I just gave him? Or about the fact that I'm standing here, completely pathetically dreaming about the forbidden fruit?

"Um, yeah. Thanks for helping me, Adèle." He has a slight frown, but he looks at me at the end of his sentence and I nod. Did I do something? Quickly retreating to the door, I place my hand on the handle of the door and get out of his sight, confused about what's happening to me.

Am I having a crush on my teacher? I didn't know it could happen so fast. Obviously, I cannot tell any of the girls about it, especially not Marz. They will just laugh at me and tell me to forget it, which I can remind myself, thank you, but Marzia will literally kill me with her eyes.

***

As I exit the classroom, I see Sasha and Danielle sitting on the long bench, looking like they've drank at least five cups of coffee.

When they see me, they jump up to their feet and I'm immediately bombarded by their questions.

"Why did he ask you to stay?"

"Did you two talk about anything interesting?"

"Was he as strict talking privately as he was at the lesson?"

"Was he even hotter up close?" Danielle grins, making Sasha raise her eyebrows and me laugh.

I am overwhelmed by their questions and I start to wish for earth to open up and swallow me for a few hours, so I don't have to answer to all of those questions, but since they're my best friends, I gather myself and tell them everything that happened. I tell them everything, except that I feel like I'm having a crush on him.

"That's so cool. He seems like a really down-to-earth guy. And he was interested in my skating." Sasha says, making me feel a light stab of jealousy. Why was he so interested in her skating? Was he looking at her more than he looked at me? Hell, I didn't notice

I immediately want to punch myself in the face. It's official - Adéle's brain is gone. She has a fucking crush on a fucking substitute teacher.

Fuck.

"Sure, go ahead. Maybe you two will make a thing." I laugh and wiggle my eyebrows, secretly hoping that it never comes true.

"Yeah, right. I wouldn't dare - I saw Marzia's expression." Sasha laughs. "Lunch?"

Still laughing and talking about Marzia's over-the-top jealousy, we make our way to the lunch room.
