Sorry, so sorry

"Adèle, you coming?" Marzia seemed annoyed again as I stayed behind in Alexey's classroom.

"Yeah, give me a second, I need Al..." I stop, almost blurting out Alexey's name, like I was not supposed to do. "I need...a good advice on the next book I am going to read." I manage to say, feeling my face coloring red.

"Yeah, whatever." Marzia rolls her eyes and starts texting on her iPhone.

They both stand by the tall bookshelf near the door and it doesn't seem like they're going to leave anytime soon.

When I'm about to say something, Alexey beats me to it and in his soft, velvet voice says: "Girls, I have a few things I need to discuss with Miss Deniau, could you meet her in your next lesson, perhaps?"

Even Marzia rises her eyes from her phone and they both look shocked. For the right reasons, of course - since when does a teacher in Silver Creeks want to discuss anything with a student? They don't care about our thoughts here.

"Sure, Mr.Bogdanovych." Alexis, though shocked, manages to smile a genuine smile and pulls Marzia out of the classroom.

When the door closes, I decide to keep this charade up, in case they were still listening at the door.

"Teacher, what book should I read for this semester? I've already read the obligatory books, but now I want something new, but also useful." I try to sound calm and forget the fact, that it's just us in this classroom. We haven't even hugged yet and a big part of my brain is practically screaming at me 'WHY AREN'T YOU KISSING YET'.

Alexey's brows furrow and he looks confused, so I mouth "Play along". His brows straighten out and there is realisation in his eyes. Then, he goes on about the books I could read that are English Lit classics - Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, Great Expectations... He goes on and on, and I even start to forget the first books he mentioned, because the list is ever so long.

While he speaks, I tip-toe to the door and kneel before it. Leaning down on the floor, I look through the crack between the door and the floor to see that nobody is standing at the door. Thank God, Marzia probably wanted to stay and listen, but Alexis pulled her away, saying that there wouldn't be anything interesting.

Since the coast is clear, I decide that I should start speaking. As I get up from the floor, Alexey is coming closer to me and for a second I freak out, because I won't be able to get out what I need to say, if he starts to kiss me, but he just walks by me and locks the door, so nobody would come in if we started to make out. Not that it would happen today. Nuh-uh.

"Adèle..." Alexey turns to me and we're only a few inches apart from each other. I can literally smell the familiar scent of his cologne that I like so much. Suddenly it feels like my body is lit on fire and every inch of my skin wants to be touched by Alexey. I could give in and we'd kiss. He'd touch me. We'd make up. Everything would be okay... NO. No. No. No. No making up. This has to stop.

"Alexey. Let's get straight to business. Come, sit down." I gesture towards the desk right in front of his desk, feeling a little weird being the one, who has to ask him to sit. There is confusion sparking in his deep blue eyes that seem to have coloured in a darker shade of blue.

After a few moments of just staring into each others eyes, silently begging the other one to listen, I finally win. Alexey gives up, runs his hand through his hair stressfully and then goes to sit at his desk.

Walking over to the table right in front of his desk, I think of what to do next. How do I listen to all he has to say and then break up with him? Can I even break up with him? I don't even know if we were official.
