It had been two days since the never-ending battle with Daina and the said boy had started to include himself within the ever-growing Beyclub you and Valt founded. It first started off small by inviting him over with you, Valt, and the others during lunch in and out of school. Most of the time, he'd accept and sit down—only on rare occasions he'd run the other way with a hand covering the side of his face.
After getting his phone number (the topic of a phone was so bizarre to you, but that's a story for another day), Valt eagerly texted him how excited he was to have Daina on the team officially when, on the other hand, Daina has had enough of you two pestering him. Then, out of nowhere, Daina had brought up the club's logo. . .only to be met by Valt's three dots as he tried to come up with a response only to realize they didn't even have one.
You sat beside him last night, giving him pointers and encouragement as he scribbled something down on a giant cardboard slate. Upon finishing, you proudly looked at each other with the same amount of enthusiasm and excited jitters before promptly putting everything away. After the night was spent with eager tosses and turns by your owner, and excited mutters through the school day, the after-school activities finally came.
There Valt stood in the busy gym, hands gesturing to the brown cardboard with messy handwriting plastered all over. Meanwhile, you stood while holding it above your head, a proud smile gracing your features as you excitedly showed off what your owner had worked so hard for at least thirty minutes last night.
"How's this?! Cool, right?!" Valt asked eagerly with you nodding along.
The boys in front of you only took mere seconds to shoot down your excitement.
"Horrible handwriting," Ker insults.
"We can't read it," Beus adds in, just like salt to the wound.
Valt's eyes widened in pure shock from his friends' unamused responses. His head whipped to the board in defeat. "I wrote 'Beyblade Club' and everything!" He whines.
"Doesn't that suffice the requirements for a logo?" You asked, your once excited face falling down to a confused one. "I mean, this should be enough, right?" You lowered the makeshift poster down below your chin. "What's wrong with it?"
"You think that's good enough?" A voice came behind Kensuke and Daina, making your eyes tear away from the poster to a cocky and smug Rantaro. "The real way to write it. . ." Rantaro begins, pulling his own sign out of nowhere. ". . .Is this!" Behind him, staying high and proud, was a brown cardboard box with very neatly written Japanese letters. From your limited knowledge of human writing, Rantaro's handwriting seems almost unintelligible. Yet, Rantaro's stupid smile was oblivious to the obvious disapproval of the rest.
You all stayed quiet for a very brief moment before all of you shook your heads in disapproval. Rantaro faltered slightly as he gawked at the negative feedback.
"Not gonna work," Ker says.
"Not at all," Beus continued. Kensuke's head shaking was the final nail to the coffin Rantaro buried himself in.
