"So, it means you will be working under me." RJ said with a huge smirked on his face.

"You're joking right?" Maine asked out aloud. When no one responded and she saw the smirk from RJ's face, she then said, "What? Nay, Tay. Ano to?" Maine asked her parents.

"Anak, naiintindihan mo naman ang ate mo diba. Isa pa, sya ang nag suggest na sayo ibigay tong case na ito." Mary Anne said.

"Nay, naiintindihan ko naman. Pero bakit ako?"

"Eh ang sabi ng ate mo, alam mo naman na yung kaso. Sinusundan mo naman daw. Minsan nga tinutulungan mo pa sya." Mary Anne said.

"Uu nga po. Pero po..." Maine is now thinking.

"Dad, mom I think ayaw nya. Feeling ko hindi nya kaya." Richard began with a smirk. "Okay lang naman po. Kakayanin ko naman eh. Andon naman si Jing. Sya naman yung nag aassist kay Coleen eh. So for sure kaya nia ako i-assist din." He finished.

"Excuse me, sinabi ko bang di ko kaya?" Maine asked with raised eyebrows.

"Ah, so kaya mo pero natatakot ka. Naku, ha. Mom, baka naman sa pre-trial pa lang, iiyak na itong si Menggay." Richard with a teasing voice.

"RJ tama na yan." Richard reprimanded his son. "Hindi ka nakakatulong eh." Then he turned to Maine, "Iha, ako na ang nakikiusap sayo. Pagtyagaan mo na lang tong si RJ. Wag ka mag-alala meron pa kau makakatulong."

Maine looked from her mother to her father to the RJ's parents and then finally to RJ who's looking at her with a challenging look. She then smiled sweetly then finally said, "Okay po."

"Well, that's settled then." Rose said. "RJ, please be nice to Menggay. Wag mo papahirapan at babantayan mo."

"Ma, akala ko ba abugado yan? Bakit parang magiging yayo pa ako ngayon?" RJ complained.

"RJ, that's enough. You know what your mother is pointing out." Richard's tone is now dead serious.

"Yes, Pa." Richard answered." I will make sure she will be okay."

"Good, good. Now, please ensure that you will update Maine and make her at par with what's going on with the case." Richard Sr said.

"Yes, Sir." RJ responded in a serious tone as well.

"We expect that after this case, you both will be more civil with each other." Theo said. "Menggay, wag magpasaway ha."

"Opo Tay." Maine said.

"Now, off you two go. Inaantay na kayo ni Coleen sa opisina mo Menggay." Mary Anne told the two.

With that both RJ and Maine stood up and headed for the door. As they were about to head out, both of them tried to squeeze themselves into the door at the same time, which resulted to them bumping each other.

"Aray!" Maine complained. "Nananadya ka ba?" she said with a frown.

"Aba, ikaw nga itong nakikipag unahan lumabas eh. Nakita mo na nga nauna ako eh." RJ retorted.

"Hay, wala ka talaga ni katiting sense ng pagiging gentleman noh!" Maine answered.

"Ako? Excuse me, sa mga totoong babae lang ako ganon." RJ remarked.

"And what do you think of me?" Maine immediately turned to him with her hands on her hips.

"What I mean is, mga magaganda at sexy na babae." RJ smirked.

"Ah, are you describing me?" Maine said with a mischievous smile.

"Asan ang maganda at sexy dyan?" RJ asked as he pretended to look beside and at her back.

"Gusto mo pagawan kita ng salamin?" Maine asked.

"No need. Meron ako. But I don't need to wear one at the moment." RJ

"Okay, if you say so." Maine said and she turned around and headed straight to her office.

Maine went directly to her office and saw that Coleen and Jing is already waiting for her and RJ.

"Oh! Bakit ka nakabusangot?" Coleen asked.

"Ate, may galit ka ba sakin?" Maine asked back.

"Ano? Bakit ako magagalit?"

"Why did you volunteer me to replace you on that case?" Maine directly asked.

"Ah, eh... Kase naman Meng. Alam mo naman ang situation ko diba?"

"Eh bakit ako? Pwede naman si Kuya Dean eh."

"Bakit, di mo ba kaya? Eh ikaw nga ang tumutulong sakin pag wala si Jing diba?"

"Kung sa kaya, kaya naman. Pero ate, alam mo naman di kame magkasundo ni RJ eh." Maine pointed out.

"Menggay, mabait naman si RJ eh." Coleen pointed out. "Diba Jing, okay naman si RJ?" Coleen turned to Jing.

"Opo Ms. Coleen." Jing replied. "Ms. Maine, don't worry ako bahala sayo." Jing assured her.

"Salamat Ate Jing. Wag mo na ko tawaging Ms. Maine. Para namang di tayo magkakilala eh." Maine said to her. "Maine or Meng na lang."

"Sige, Maine na lang." Jing said with a smile.

"So, okay ka na?" Coleen asked.

"Wala naman ako choice eh." Maine said.

"Ano ka ba. If merong case na matututo ka talaga eto yon. At lalo pa, si RJ ang makakasama mo. Kahit ganyan si RJ sayo, marami ka matututunan sa kanya. Promise." Coleen assured her.

"Uu nga Maine. For sure mag eenjoy ka sa kaso na to. Lalo na high profile. Magiging sikat ka agad." Jing added.

"Hay naku Ate Jing, wala ako plano maging sikat noh. Gusto ko lang maging magaling na abugada."

"Naku ha. Magaling ka na po. Top 2 ka nga sa bar diba." Coleen pointed out. "Wag ka na mag-alala. For sure naman aalagaan ka ni RJ eh." Coleen smiled. "Malay mo, dahil dito sa case na ito eh magkasundo na talaga kayo. Or, pwedeng ma-inlove kayo sa isa't isa." Coleen teased Maine.

"Uu nga noh!" Jing added. "Pareho naman kayo single eh. Bagay kayo."

"Ha! Asa pa kau. Malayong mangyari yon." Maine responded.

"Naku ha, wag ka magsalita ng tapos. Mahirap na, baka kainin mo yang mga sinasabi mo." Coleen said.

"Hay, naku Ate. Ikaw, kung anu-ano naiisip mo."

"Bakit may possibility naman talaga eh."

"Ate, una, bata pa ako, wala pa sa isip ko yung mga ganyang bagay. 2nd, I'm here to work and learn and enhance my skills. 3rd, kung si Tukmol lang din naman, mas gugustuhin ko pang maging single forever. At isa pa I need to focus muna dito noh." Maine pointed out.

"But, love usually comes when you least expect it." Jing pointed out.

"Tama!!!" Coleen agreed and both Jing and Coleen exchanged high fives.

"Hay, bahala na nga kayong dalawa." Maine said.

"Hahahaha... Exciting ito. Parang teleserye na aabangan." Coleen said.

"Heh!" Maine said.

"Teka, asan na nga ba si RJ?" Coleen asked.

"Ewan ko sa tukmol na yon." Maine said.
