Laws of Attraction: 21

           

The weekend pass by so fast. That Monday, RJ, Maine, Drei and Jing needed to go to Subic once more to meet Mr. Tuviera. RJ, Drei and Jing met early in the office. And since Maine stayed in Bulacan during the weekend, it was decided that they will just fetch Maine from there. And since they arrived a little bit early, the Mendoza family invited them to have breakfast first.

They were already seated in the dining table when Drei said, "Uhhhmmmm, Tita, asan po si Maine?"

"Ah, nagbibihis pa. Medyo matagal kase yon mag-ayos eh."

"Bakit mo hinahanap?" Theodore asked in a stern voice.

"Ah, wala naman po Sir. Kase parang siya na lang ang kulang." Drei tried to explain.

"Okay. Mabuti na yung maliwanag."

"Ah, Tita ano po ba breakfast?" RJ asked who clearly enjoys seeing Drei uncomfortable under the scrutinizing look of the Mendoza patriarch.

"Ay, eto. Nagluto si Pe ng Tinapa Rice. Isa yan sa specialty nia. Pero meron pang onting adobo na natira kagabi."

"Ayon, ayos." Dean said as he was about to reach for the adobo but was beaten by RJ to it.

""Ay, bro gusto mo ba hati tayo?" RJ asked.

Dean just smiled and just said, "Sige wag na bro. Sayo na yan. Baka kulang pa sayo yan eh."

"Grabe ka naman." RJ answered. "Ang dami kaya nito."

"Sus, wag na. Bilisan mo na lang bago dumating si Menggay. Pag nakita niya na kumakain ka nag adobo nia, baka kunin nanaman yang pinggan mo." Dean said in a teasing voice.

RJ remembering the last time he was there having breakfast as well, he immediately put more rice on his plate and poured the remaining adobo sauce on it. He then eat with all gusto.

"Ah Drei, ikaw kumusta naman ang trabaho? Hindi ka ba masyado naooverwhelmed sa trabaho?" Collette asked Drei.

"Hindi naman. Sanayan lang din." Drei answered with a smile. "Mas marami pa ngang trabaho sa PAO eh."

"Ay uu nga pala. Sa PAO ka galing. So sanay ka sa mga ganyan."

"Medyo. Mas kinakabahan pa nga ako pag media ang nag iinterview eh. Mahirap kase high profile case itong hawak namin. Kaya nga thankful ako na ang mas madalas umaharap eh itong si Atty. RJ at Maine eh."

"Well, that's my job as the lead prosecutor of this case." RJ answered confidently. He then added, "Also, hindi lahat talaga kaya humarap sa media. It takes charisma as well."

"Wow, ang hangin naman dito." Maine butt in as she walks towards her seat.

Drei immediately stood up and greeted her enthusiastically, "Good Morning Maine!" He then walk towards Maine to assist her to sit.

"Thank you. Good Morning to you too!" Maine said with a smile to Drei.

RJ just rolled his eyes at Drei's action. He then turned to Dean who gave him a slight nudge. "Ikaw kase ang bagal mo eh." Dean whispered.

"What are you saying?" Richard denied in a whisper.

"Bahala ka, baka maunahan ka pa ni Drei. Tandaan mo, the early bird, catches the worm." Dean teased softly.

"Sus, hindi complete yung idiom na alam mo. Yung buo nyan ay, 'The early bird catches the worm, but the the Night Owl Gets the Mouse!" RJ said meaningfully.

"Dean, RJ, anong pinagbubulungan niyo dyan?" Anne asked the two young man.

"Wala po Nay." Dean said.
