Laws of Attraction: 27

It's already past 10PM when Maine stepped out of her cubicle. She was about to go to pull an all-nighter so she decided to at least get some coffee in the pantry. After making her coffee, she walked back to her cubicle and resumed reading the documents in her table.

A soft knock was heard, so Maine lifted her head to look who knocked. What she saw came in as a surprise.

"Dinner?" RJ spoke while holding up some paperbags for Maine to see.

"What's that?" Maine asked.

"Paperbag..." RJ said in a teasing voice, then continued "with some hot ramen inside."

Maine who is not feeling well, tired and irrited because of her nagging headache just frown at him and then continued, "No thanks."

"Huh? Aba milagro tumatanggi ka. That's a first. Pero hindi pwede, binili ko ito, at kailangan mo ako bayaran."

"What do you mean bayaran?"

"Well, ako na nag effort bumili ng dinner natin. Alangan namang ako pa din ang magbabayad. Obviously you have to pay." RJ answered still in a teasing voice.

"RJ, please. I'm not in the mood to play along. Masama na pakiramdam ko, at madami pa akong dapat agawin. Kung ikaw naghahanap lang ng mabubwisit, wag ako. Please. I need finish these." Maine answered as she held the pile of documents in her table.

RJ immediately approached Maine and placed his palm in her forehead. After a few seconds, she walked out of Maine's office without uttering any word.

Maine then let out a huge sigh thinking, 'Hay salamat, umalis din.'

But before Maine can go back to reading, RJ came back and walked straight to her. He put on a thermometer in Maine's ear to check on her temperature. About after 10 seconds, the thermometer sounded off wand RJ looked at it. Upon reading, a frown registered on his face. He then reached something inside his pocket pulled it out. He then peeled off a fever patch and placed in in Maine's forehead.

Maine tried to remove RJ's hand but to no avail. RJ was still successful in placing the patch. "What do you think you're doing?"

"Stop working please." RJ shortly answered. He then started to gather all the documents in her table and placed it on the side. Afterwards, he prepared the food for Maine. "You need to eat before you take some medicines."

"Ano ba RJ. What are you doing? Please lang, madami pa ako kailangang gawin."

"I said stop working. May sakit ka na nga eh. May lagnat ka. Your temperature is now at 38 degrees. You should take a rest. Weekend naman na eh."

"Kaya ko naman eh."

"Anong kaya. Tignan mo nga yang itsura mo. Namumula ka na sa init. At for sure nanghihina ka na. Kumain ka na dyan. Tapos ihahatid na kita pauwi."

"Wala ako ganang kumain."

"Kakain ka mag-isa o susubuan kita?"

Maine just looked at him without saying anything.

"Don't dare me." RJ said as he attempt to get the move to feed her.

Maine immediately grab the spoon and said, "Ako na." she then started to eat. "Will you just be staring at me the whole time?"

"I'm just making sure na kakain ka ng mabuti. Hurry up, you still need to take your medicine."

"Wag mo ko panoorin. Kumain ka na lang din."

"Fine. But finish that bowl ha."

"RJ ang dami nito. Wala nga ako ganang kumain eh."

"Fine. At least finish half of it. San ka uuwi ngayon?"
