Mrs Joseph could never feed Tyler the way she fed the rest of her children. She had found out her breasts hadn't produced any milk during the pregnancy.
But Tyler never ate anything anyways. He'd stick to his cranberry juice and refuse to eat anything.
They found out his attraction to cranberry juice on accident; Mr Joseph was drinking it and it was the first thing Tyler ever tried reaching for with his tiny hands.
Mrs Joseph shed many tears in fear Tyler would die from no food and nothing but cranberry juice, but Tyler looked like any other baby his age.
Mr and Mrs Joseph started wearing long sleeves at any time when Tyler's teeth grew out. He'd bite along their whole arms, leaving deep and painful scars. His fangs grew out longer and sharper than the rest of his teeth, but he was still his Mom's adorable little baby.
His parents got used to his piercing red eyes pretty quickly. He looked normal to them by the time he was one.
He was mostly locked in his parents' bedroom where his parents made him a small bed. He was lonely and sad, but would have a large smile when his parents would return to him in the evening. Of course, they'd check on him during the days, but they'd have to leave fast. Evenings were Tyler's times.
He started walking when he was nine months old; more like, he started running and jumping on furniture.
When his siblings weren't home, his parents would let him walk around the house. He seemed destructive, but he wasn't really. He'd climb closets and jump from one side of the room to another, much to the amusement of his parents.
His siblings were not happy at all when Tyler was mentioned. They really wished they knew him. Their grandparents and the rest of the Joseph family felt the same way.
But Mr and Mrs Joseph successfully kept Tyler a secret.
...
"Stop right there mister!"
Tyler's parents laughed as he jumped from the grey sofa onto the tallest living room closet, trying to avoid his mother who desperately wanted to dress him up; he was only missing a T-shirt.
He turns four tomorrow. He was ready to meet his siblings.
"C'mere Tyler!" his father called.
Tyler smirked and jumped onto his mother's chest, cuddling into her warm body. She handed the blue T-shirt to her husband and he rose Tyler's small arms to pull it on him.
Tyler leaned down to his mother's arm and bit her.
"No, Tyler" Mrs Joseph held him up away from her body as she hissed in pain "You can't do that"
His face was somewhere between confused and angry "Sovvy"
Mrs Joseph sighed.
"They're here" Mr Joseph announced as he watched a car stopping in their driveway.
Zack was sixteen, Jay way twelve and Madison was ten. Zack was allowed to drive a car, thus he did the to-school and from-school drives.
The three siblings didn't even know they were gonna be meeting their youngest brother that day.
Zack dropped the car keys into a key bowl by the door. Jay and Madison sighed tiredly, mentally wishing the school would burn down.
"Kids! Living room, now!" Mr Joseph's voice echoed through the house.
The three siblings frowned, wondering what did they do now.
Mrs Joseph placed Tyler on the sofa and straightened his clothes "Behave, yeah? Mama loves you"
Tyler nodded, red eyes wide open.
"Children" Mrs Joseph announced, standing up straight and smiling "We want you to meet your brother, Tyler"
All three pairs of eyes widened and the boys' jaws dropped. Madison squealed excitedly and she clapped as she hopped in place.
Mrs Joseph stepped aside, revealing the red-eyed, small-framed boy.
The three gasped in horror when they saw the red eyes and the fangs that slightly peeked out of his mouth and lied on his bottom lip. Tyler pushed himself into the sofa, a bit scared of the gasps.
"What's with his eyes?!"
"And his teeth?!"
"What's wrong with him?!"
Mrs Joseph frowned, incredibly offended "There's nothing wrong with him. He is simply special. That's it"
"Mom, there's obviously something wrong with him" Zack said boldly.
Tyler hissed at him, showing his teeth. Mrs Joseph let out a gasp and quickly picked Tyler up into her hands.
"Can I?" Madison approached her mother, putting her hands out toward her brother.
Mr and Mrs Joseph exchanged a look before Mrs Joseph nodded and gave Tyler to Madison. She gave all her strength into holding the tiny boy in her arms; he was almost four years old.
"Hi, Tyler. I'm Maddy. I'm your sister" she touched his nose.
He hissed quietly at the action but sniffled Madison's hair and rested his head in it, deciding he likes his sister.
Madison awed as Tyler shifted to find a perfect spot in her arms.
Mr and Mrs Joseph were happy, but afraid. They didn't want their children to suffer through the same scars as them. They hoped all the children would get along.
Later on, Jay and Zack gave in and met their little, odd brother. Tyler didn't talk to any of his siblings which made the three wonder if he could talk at all.
They ended up taking Tyler to his bed, wishing him good night and Tyler fell asleep happy to have new frens.
Happy. And blood-thirsty.
