Chapter 13

Chapter 13: Darker memories

            “Lane…” said an echo, more like telepathy.

            Lane was shocked and wanted to know who said it. It turns out, it was Trevor speaking through the crystal.

            “Trevor, are you ok?” asked Lane.

            “Yes, just make sure this crystal isn’t separated from my body” said Trevor from the crystal. “I’m just in Lana’s self-consciousness”.

            “What do you mean that you’re in my granddaughter’s self-consciousness?” asked Lane.

            “I’m in her mind! I can see her memories and thoughts. The Link might have sent me here to save her from the inside!” said Trevor. “She’s somewhere trapped in her self-conscious. What should I do?”

            Lane needed to think of a plan. Only Trevor can save her but he has no Link powers. He’s not a guardian and he can’t be because he wasn’t possessed with it. That’s when Lane decided to make a risk. He held the artificial Link crystal and sent himself, with his Link powers to Trevor. In Alana’s self-consciousness, Trevor is just floating there. There was no gravity and he’s just a soul. It was dark but he can see tiny fragments of Alana’s memories. Times when she was young, times when Allie was ignored by her, and times when she saved Club Penguin. Trevor was just floating in darkness till he can see a stream blue light surrounding him. Trevor started to touch a bit of it and it’s starting to flow through his arms.

            “What is this light?” asked Trevor.

            “Trevor Gilligan” said the Light. “This is Lane speaking. Or should I say the Link”.

            “Mr Merrifield, what’s going on?” asked Trevor.

            “I am now giving you all of my efforts and my life” said Lane. “You shall take all of my Link essence and abilities as well as my life as a human. Only you can save Alana and probably save Club Penguin from falling over”.

            “You’re no longer going to be with us?” asked Trevor.

            “I will but as a penguin” said Lane. “I will become a full penguin but I will communicate with all of you through the crystals. I will remain immortal till Club Penguin tumbles down. For now, you shall take over my guardian form and use it to save Alana and the others if possible. Will you do it?”

            Trevor saw the Link essence flowing through his body and see Alana’s memories of all the guardians fighting off evil in Club Penguin. He has a huge decision to make. But suddenly, he saw Alana’s memories of the intense training she has to do. He can see her losing her social life as she is a possessor of this ability. Trevor didn’t have much time to make a huge decision as this but if he doesn’t make up his mind, Alana could die or stay like this forever. He finally made up a decision.

            “I accept!” said Trevor.

            Trevor absorbed all of Lane’s Link essence and now has the ability of a full Guardian. He can feel the power that it has and understands why it was a huge secret in the Club Penguin community and in the real world. Trevor suddenly transformed into his new guardian form. Trevor is wearing a blue cape, a blue and yellow tracksuit, a blue helmet with a light blue clear glass which is also a computer, Blue jet boots, and the artificial crystal became a shape of  different shades of blue and yellow Virtual communicator but it’s a shape shifter that transform into any weapon or gadget needed.
