Chapter 35

Chapter 35: An old Friend

Chris leaned forward to the penguin and touched her. He can feel static to the creature and he tried to make sure he wasn't dreaming. He was shocked. He was both scared and amazed due to the fact that he has both his and Gary's consciousness. That's when Gary's consciousness merged with Chris's temporarily.

"Aunt Artic. What are you doing here?" asked Chris. "How did you even get here?"

"Umm... who am I talking to, Gary or Chris?" asked Aunt Artic.

"Both" said Chris with Gary's voice. "But only temporarily. It will fade when you leave. But how are you here?"

"The Ducktor sent me here" said Aunt Artic.

The Ducktor showed himself then closed it. Chris was trying to figure out how the Ducktor was summoned without knowing it. It was then figured out that Gary sent him when things were going bad.

"Gary, is everything alright?" asked Aunt Artic.

"No" said Chris with Gary's voice. "I've lost the love of my life, and now you're here! I don't know if I'm even supposed to exist. Now I feel bad about if I should have just left this poor soul alone".

"You did left it alone G" said the Ducktor as he left the closet. "You just watch Chris live his life in his mind"

"G, do you want to go back?" asked Aunt Artic. "We can start over".

"No, just let me be" said Chris. "I'm fine. I tend to get my heart broken a lot".

"Gary, this isn't the world you should be in" said the Ducktor. "Aunt Artic is suffering and besides, you sent me to the actual timeline to get her!"

"I only sent you out so you can spy on her! I wanted to see how she's doing" said Chris. "No I can see she's doing fine, you can leave, thanks for coming".

The Ducktor was going back to the closet. Aunt Artic started to walk back but then decided to try to let G go back. Aunt Artic transformed into her human form and held Chris's hand.

"Gary, are you still there?" asked Aunt Artic.

"Yes, I will fade till you're gone. Why?" asked Gary.

"I want you to hear me out" said Aunt Artic.

Gary sat down on the bed and Aunt Artic returned into her penguin form and got a chair. She sat down and brought out a diary of events that meant a lot to her.

"On 2006, you helped me find my missing puffles" said Aunt Artic.

"Umm... it was the agents who did it, not me" said Chris.

"Operation Hibernation, we were a team on trapping Herbert. When we were finding the Link, we all worked together" said Aunt Artic. "Even when you got sick, I was there!"

"What's the point?" asked Chris.

"The point is that why stick with the alternate version of me and just be with the original" asked Aunt Artic. "I was your best friend since 2011! Even before the game even began! Why can't you come back?!".

"Didn't I tell you, it's Allie. I can't go back" said Chris.

The Ducktor overheard and he sent in Allie from the spirit world. She arrived in her human form and walked through the surface of the apartment. Chris saw her and he went to her. He can feel her but he can't touch her.

"Allie" said Chris.

"Gary? You look different" said Allie.

"I'm in my alternate form. It's the alternate universe" said Chris.

"I know, I saw" said Allie. "Gary, I want you to move on. I can't let you suffer this grief".

"What!" said Chris. "But I... love you"

"I'm gone G" said Allie. "All I ask is for you to move on".

"But..." said Chris.

Allie went closer to him and felt his cheek. She went closer and the two kissed. Allie moved away and Chris held her hand for the last time.

"Please stay" said Gary.

"I was summoned here Gary, I can't be here for long" said Allie. "Please, go back to Club Penguin and move on... just how I did when Stan died".

Allie started to fade and then she was gone. That will be the last time G will ever see her again... for now. When she disappeared, all was left on his hand was a piece of the link fragment that was given to her when she was stuck in Club Penguin. It then suddenly transformed into a ring, the engagement ring that Gary gave to her. Aunt Artic returned into her human form just to comfort him. (Penguins and humans can't touch each other. It's either they're both in human form or penguin form).

"I'm so sorry" said Aunt Artic.

Chris's body started to shake and then he started to glow. He was being levitated on the air and then landed on the ground. Suddenly, the Ducktor started to change form. It wasn't regeneration but he's transforming into Ducktor Gary. He went out of the closet and placed Chris's body on the bed. He then kissed Aunt Artic on the beak and returned to their normal timeline, leaving Chris alone with a photo of his wedding day.
