Chapter 21: Alternate Worlds

Gary can feel himself falling down in a time stream. As each fall, he can feel time and space falling apart and the people who are being removed. Gary started to weaken but suddenly, his Link abilities removed him from becoming an alternate version of himself but a ghost to see the others in an alternate life without him in.

He first arrived at Allie’s school when she was in middle school back in New York… age 15. She was being bullied and made fun off. He landed down and got curious what happened and why he was alive. That was when he ends up discovering that his powers made him alive. He now started to walk around and tried to comfort her.

“Allie, are you ok?” asked Gary.

Allie couldn’t hear him. It’s like he never existed. Gary ran to the computer room and noticed that he can walk through walls. He started to access the internet and discovered that Club Penguin is actually a club to protect penguins. He can also see Rockhopper… in a different art style… being an information guide. Suddenly, the school librarian saw an open computer.

“Why is this computer on?” asked the Librarian.

Gary moved out of the way and saw the name of the librarian. It was Alicia Artica… Aunt Artic! It’s the person who gave a voice to Aunt Artic. Somehow, since Club Penguin never existed, the actual people who control the penguins found new jobs.

            “Aunt Artic!?” said Gary.

But it was the same result. She couldn’t hear him or see him. Gary just realised that he’s the only survivor of the time crash. He now has to find a way to know what’s going on in this timeline. He flew to Kelowna and found the New Horizon’s Building and it’s just an architecture building. Gary flew in and saw that Lane or any other co-founder wasn’t there. Gary went on a computer and saw an old news report from 8 years ago. It turns out that Club Penguin was sued for the biggest virus of the decade that Lane and the other co-founders went to jail. He saw a folder said ‘Past plans’. It was a rubbish bin of all the characters and everything about Club Penguin. They just kept it as reference for new buildings. The alternate timeline ruined lives. Allie being bullied, Lane losing his job. He can imagine Lane’s son being upset about his father! Gary needs to fix time and space but he couldn’t because he only has the Power fragment. He needs the Balance fragment. Gary flew to the rooftop and yelled to the sky, hoping that the Ducktor could hear him.

“Happy Ducktor?” yelled Gary. “Thanks to you, I’m alone and I’m the only survivor of your time crash! There are lives destroyed and lives altered! I hope your happy!”.

Gary was now upset. He’s stuck in this ghost form, knowing that he can never ever leave and see the pain of his friends that they are suffering.

Meanwhile in the Dimensional Controller, the Ducktor heard Gary’s plea. He couldn’t recognise who it was talking to him or how that person managed to talk to him.

“Hello?” asked the Duckor. “Who are you?”

Gary heard the question as he. He recognised the voice of the Duckor. Unfortunately, Gary started to fall unconscious then he faded away to his alternate self, a human. He was too late to save his friends.

“At least now, if I fall in, I can change some of their lives a bit” said Gary as he disappears.
