Chp53: You belong with me...

Harry's *POV*

I wanted to run after her, to hold her in my arm, to rock her against my heart and take away all her pain but she the look on her face made it certain that she didn't need that. The guilt..the fear..the shame, she have been living it with so long. How shattered she looked, when those words somehow came through the lump in her throat and her eyes weeping tears of blood-tears of pain-tears of a mother-tears for her child!

I didn't know where did she go but I decided to wait. I stood there and looked pass the the other room where the kids played. How happy she looked with them... how natural...how maternal! How can God be so cruel. It was just a bad phase, a bad time but she is determined for a bad life!

I was still in my thoughts when I heard  Eleanor calling for me. She entered after seconds with Lily on her hips. Keeping her in the bassinet and walked over to me.

"Harry! Oh God Harry....!", she cried hugging me.

"El...what's the matter? Why are you ..."

"Kathy--"

"I know. She told me. I didn't know how to comfort her but I think she needs some time--"

"There is no time! The doc said he is detoria---"

"What? Doctor? He? who????"

"Her Father! He had a heart attack this morning..God...another...operation....Harry!", she cried again.

I was so confused at the moment and El wasn't helping.

"El just stop crying! Hold on!", I held her tight by the shoulder to make her steady.

"Now tell me where is Kathy??"

"She..umm...she..left.."

''Left where? when?"

"Edinburgh! Her flight will--", she checked the watch and added

"Left before five minutes!"

"Shit! I need to go!".I took out my phone to book the very next available flight.

"Harry NO!", she snatched my phone.

"Hell why?"

"Because she said so!"

"Said what?"

"I don't know what happened but she made me promise! She wants to stay alone for sometime and she---"

"Good Heavens! El that's such a cliché! Tell me you didn't promise her anything stupid like that!"

"I did! I had to! Harry she was crying and I was helpless. I wanted to go with her but she made me promise. 'Don't tell anyone and don't let anyone come there!'. I am so scared Harry...I had to tell someone.. I had to tell you!"

"You did your bit El!", I knew Kathy too well and too predictable! She didn't want to bother anyone specially El with her wedding coming in less than a fortnight!

"But Harry I am scared!"

"I know. El just sit down and listen!", I pulled her down to a seat.

"I am going now and you don't need to wor--"

"But Harry I promised her!"

"Even I promised someone!I will go and take care there. You just need calm down and start your wedding fuss!"

My promise, not only to Hugh and Dotty but myself too! Though I wonder If Mark's Mother knew about the baby, so did Hugh?

"I can't think about the wedding Harry!"
