Scotty and I had just brought home our new baby and just as soon as Kimberly saw him she asked Scotty, "Daddy, can I feed him, please?" "Sure." So he handed Kimberly her brother and she started feeding him his bottle. He watched her and said in a warning voice, "Be careful sweetheart, don't hurt him, okay?" "Okay Daddy, I won't, I promise." So while Kimberly was feeding her brother, Scotty got the camera and said, "Kimberly, look up at Daddy, smile." She looked up at the camera and smiled a little. Scotty said, "Hold it right there. Kimberly, smile again." Then Scotty took the camera and went "Click" and he snapped a picture of his daughter feeding his newborn son. He let me see the picture and I said, "This is an adorable picture. We should send it to your family so that they can see their grandchildren. Don't you think?" "Yes absolutely. I'll go send it right now, be right back." Then he gave me a kiss and we heard a "Gross. That was gross." We looked at her and laughed and then Scotty came back and said, "Okay, it's not. My parents and my sister will enjoy it." Then we sat down in the family room and turned on the T.V. to see if there was anything good on and there was an interview with my husband and so we settled on the couch and watched it. He was talking about touring and family. The first thing that he talked about was winning American Idol and he said, "Auditioning for American Idol was a dream come true for me and then winning several months later. The next joy in my life was finding the one who I would spend the rest of my life with and that was my wife, who's watching from home with our children. I love you, honey. Speaking of my children, I would like to say thank you to them as well. Kimberly, Daddy loves you and I want you to grow into a healthy young lady one day. To my son, I love you so much, even though you're still a baby. I want you to grow into a healthy boy and young man one day and hopefully follow in Daddy's footsteps and sing like I do. I love you, son. My band is the next people that I would like to thank you for sticking by me and keeping me grounded. Lastly, I would like to say a special thank you to the Lord for bringing me on this journey from American Idol to now, so thank you Lord." After that interview went off, I went up to give the children their baths and then Scotty followed and said, "Darling, I'll give them their baths so that you could wash the dishes." "Thank you, sweetheart. I appreciate your help, sweetie. I love you." Then we kissed and heard a "Gross" from a little voice behind us. When we heard it we knew that it was our daughter who had said that.
The next morning, I looked over at the clock and it said 6:30A.M. and then I looked over at my husband's side of the bed, but he was gone. I woke with a start and thought, Where is my husband, I hope he didn't pass on without me knowing first. Once I thought that, I started to cry. I walked downstairs to the kitchen and breathed a sigh of relief because my husband was in the kitchen making breakfast and he said, "Oh good morning, honey, I wanted to surprise you with a breakfast in bed, but it's fine, we can eat now if you want, I have to head to the studio soon so that I can record. I love you." Then he kissed and he went on his way to the studio.
