It was raining the day Charlie went back to school. Practically a thunder storm. The sky was dark and the rain exploded on the ground. Charlie had forgotten her umbrella and missed her bus so now it was a half hour walk to school.

By the time she got there she was wet through, from her uniform down to her underwear. Fortunately she got to school ten minutes before the bell and she had a free period first thing so she would have enough time to make herself look some what decent. Coming through the school gates she kept her head down. People stopped talking as she walked by and their eyes followed her every step.

Her friends had messaged her and said that Matt had spread that Charlie had pushed Red into that fire, not the other way around. Wrapping her blazer around her tighter Charlie hurried quicker to the school entrance. She had just about reached it when she felt someone grab her from behind. Tripping slightly in shock she turned around and wen tot punch whoever had grabbed her. Her fist was caught mid throw.

Captain raised an eyebrow at her.

"Still taking them self defence classes off your brother then huh?" Captain asked smiling weakly.

"Thank god it's you!" Charlie whimpered and hugged her.

Captain and Charlie like all the rest of them in their group had know each other since they were babies. Captain was a tall athletic girl. Her skin was pale, and her hair was a combo of black hair half dip dyed red and the other blue. If Charlie could count on anyone it would be her. She was the one who had got her and Red together in the first place after all.

"How are you feeling?" Captain asked rubbing her back.

"Horrible! I'm cold, I'm wet and everyone thinks I killed Red!" Charlie mumbled into her shoulder. Captain always smelt like cinnamon and she loved it.

"Well let's go find the others and get you dry yeah!" Captain pulled away.

Grabbing her hand Captain pulled Charlie quick let along the halls, past the crowds of people who were whispering and into a empty classroom. Every morning the gang was allowed in here by their Spanish teacher. They were supposed to use it to study for tests but they never did.

Inside was four other girls sat on desks or chairs chatting quietly. They all looked up when Captain slammed the door behind her.

"Whoops!" Captain said flinching.

"Charlie what happened!" Katie rushed over and held her at arms length. Slightly taller than Charlie Katie was the most energetic of the group. Long distance runner, constantly held her hair back in a fancy braid and didn't take no shit from no one.

"Miss the bus." She shrugged. Katie peeled off her blazer and nodded to another girl.

She was purple hair and had big geeky black glasses on the bridge of her nose. Nodding back at Katie she jumped down off a desk and grabbed a key hanging off the wall.

"Glinda what are you doing?" A blonde girl asked.

"I have access to the schools uniform supply and I have some spare clothes in my locker. I'll be back in a bit babe." The purple hair winked at her and headed out the room. Guess it paid off to be a teachers pet sometimes.

The blonde girl was small and shy. Edith. Her hair was a big curly mess and her eighties style accessories were always getting her into trouble. She sat on a chair leaning against another girl.

"How you holding up?" Naomi asked sweetly.

Three words described Naomi. Adventurous and History Geek. Her short brown bob with a single curl on top gave her a unique look. Jumping down from the desk Naomi came over and hugged Charlie hard.

Charlie hugged back crying onto her shoulder. Edith came over and used some paper towels and a brush to dry Charlie's hair and wipe her face. She flinched when the door slammed again. Taking a deep breath she turned back around.

"Did you manage to escape the evil receptionist Glind-" Charlie's words caught in her throat.

"What the hell do you think your doing here!" Katie shouted.

Matt smirked and laughed to his friends. The six lads blocked the door way, leaving no option of escape.

"Oh we're sorry we thought everyone was allowed in here?" Matt sniggered.

"So what's this then support the psycho killer day?" One of the lads piped up and pointed to Charlie. They all laughed at the joke and pointed at wet clothes.

Someone started clapping. Turning Charlie saw Captain sat on a desk clapping her hands at their joke.

"Amazing! Absolutely brilliant!" She laughed.

"Oh hey Ohio! How you doing sweet cheeks?" Matt swaggered over to Captain.

Her face grimaced as he put a hand on her hip.

"Get off her Matt!" Charlie spoke up.

"And what are you gonna do about it Charles?" Matt turned and glared at her.

"Charlie leave it..." Katie grabbed her arm and held her back.

"Nah go on Kate! Let her at him!" On of the lads shouted behind them.

Captain stepped in front of Matt before he could make a move.

"Look you guys go! The bells gonna go in ten minutes and you have to hand in your science project before it goes remember." Captain fluttered her eye lashes and put a hand on Matts arm.

Everyone was shocked, but Matt just soaked t all in.

"Fair enough. I'll see you later hotness..." Matt winked at Captain making her giggle.

"Do I get a kiss before you go?" She asked softly biting her lip.

Smirking Matt leaned in for a kiss. Nobody could take their eyes off them. When Matt had closed his eyes Captain curled her fist and punch him straight in the nose. He shouted out in pain and fell back on the ground. His friends running over it to help, while Captain stood and laughed.

"What the fuck was that for you bitch?!" Matt shouted getting up. Blood ran down his face and dropped on the floor.

The door slammed behind them all. Glinda stood with a pile of school clothes in her arms.

"Err what's going on?" She asked looking from Matt to the girls.

"Oh don't worry Glind! I was just telling Matt," Captain smiled from Glinda to Matt who was glaring at her, "that a kiss with a fist is better then none..." Her voice soured.
