After a hell of a lot of talking Captain finally convinced the others to do as she said and tell the police that she did it not them. The only person that wasn't 100% not going to was Charlie. Her, Charlie and Edith were walking through to the other side of the woods to a village to buy some food and water. And no matter what Captain said Charlie wouldn't listen.
"Look bitch I started this. I don't want you going down for all this crap just for us." Charlie said yet again.
That was it. Captain turned and slapped Charlie across the face.
"Captain!" Edith shouted.
"Enough Charlie! Enough! I am not letting you lot go to prison! I have lost everything! My siblings! Red and now my family because we are on the run! I am not letting you go to prison for something we all got dragged into!" Captain shouted.
She took a deep breath and calmed herself.
"Look I'm sorry I slapped you...But I can't let you lot go to prison...Or you go to an asylum Charlie...It's horrible and I don't want you lot to go through that....I love you too much..." Captain said softly.
"It's OK.." Charlie said hugging her.
They walked on for about another half an hour before they reached a road.
"The village is that way." Edith said pointing to the left.
They carried on for another five minutes before houses started to appear. pore and more houses or small craft shops appeared as they went along and small cafes but no food stores. A few people wandering around stopped and stared at the girls as they walked along.
"Somethings not right....We need to hurry." Charlie mumbled to the others.
"I know you to stay here." Edith said.
They watched as Edith walked up to two elderly people who were talking.
"Excuse me? Hi, could you tell me where the nearest food store is?" Edith asked sweetly.
"Why of course dear just carry on down the road for about five minutes and you'll come across a green store called Jeffery's. It's the best store around and quite cheap." One of the women said smiling sweetly.
"Thanks," Edith smiled.
She motioned to Charlie and Captain to follow her and they came down. They all smiled as they walked by but this time the women looked horrified. When they had wondered on a bit and found the food store. They went in grabbed a basket each and found the food and water they needed. They mainly went for tinned food and avoided fridge and freezer stuff since they hadn't sorted that problem yet. They bought food and some water bottles and chucked in some cans of pop for good measure.
Charlie noticed that the shop keeper and a few other people in the shop were giving them the same look the two women had given them earlier. People talking would suddenly stop and they went by and even the children would stare and point before their adult would pull them away. The next person who did this Charlie followed their gaze. They weren't looking at THEM, they were looking at Captain.
'You need to get out of here...Somethings not right...'
Charlie looked at Edith who had finished paying. As the three of them headed out of the door Charlie glanced over her shoulder to see the people around them had started whispering and pointing in their direction. They headed back down the street holding a bag or two each. They were about halfway through the village when Edith spotted a Cafe on the other side of the road.
"Hey sweet. I have some money left over, why don't we grab some coffee's or something to go and bring some for the others?" Captain suggested.
Even though Charlie agreed she still had a really really bad feeling about this. Reluctantly she headed across the road with the others and they went inside the small Cafe. There was only the person at the counter and a old couple sat a table beside the window. Edith went to order while Captain and Charlie went to sit at a table in the corner.
The design reminder Charlie of something you might see in a Grandmas house. The wallpaper was a faded grey colour patterned with small pink flower and the tables were covered with a shiny red and white checked cloth and the floor was plain dark wood. Charlie sat on her phone while Captain tapped her fingers on the table watching her closely.
"What have I done now?" Charlie asked looking up from her phone.
"Nowt. What you drawing?" Captain asked changing the subject.
Edith suddenly appeared and sat next to Captain.
"How did you know I was drawing?" Charlie scrunched her eyebrows confused.
"You bite your bottom lip when your drawing. Anyway where's the coffee Edith?" JaEdith said that the woman at the counter said it was going to take a while so she would bring it over for them.
"Sweet. Now what are you drawing?" Captain asked again rolling her eyes.
"Ugh fine!" Charlie muttered angrily.
She faced her phone towards the girls."Oh wow!" The others said in usion.
While they were looking at the photo Charlie turned to see if their coffee was almost ready. Instead she saw the waitress at the counter on the phone. She had a worried look on her ace and kept glancing over to them. She turned away when she saw Charlie watching her.
"Sup Charles?" Edith tapped her on the shoulder.
"Something's not right..." Charlie didn't move and carried on watching the woman at the counter."What do you mean?" Edith looked at the waitress who was now looking out the window and looking at them.
"She means that they know..." Captain muttered.
"What?" Charlie said confused.
"They found the bodies...they think I killed them because they found my sister hair..." Captain mumbled. Her eyes were staring straight out the window. Charlie follow the gaze.
" Captain who knows?" Edith asked in a hush whisper.
"Shit... Edith look!" Charlie pointed out the window.
A police car has pulled up and two police men carrying guns came out."Crap! Captain run!" Edith shouted.
But she didn't. Instead Captain got up and went to the door. Edith and Charlie watched as Captain handed herself in was pushed into the car. Edith picked up Charlie's phone and searched through the contacts.
A tear rolled Charlie's cheek. What had she just done? She had just let her go? Why?
"Glenda! It's Edith! You need to get to the police station now! Captains been caught!" Edith hurried and dragged Charlie out the Cafe door with her.
