Running From The Past

Chapter 16

Captains POV

They took their things and a hell of a lot of water and food with them. Exiting out of the back of the house and headed towards the woods. About two years ago they discovered and redecorated a hidden room in the woods. It was about a half an hour walk into the woods before you reached it and nobody but their group and two others knew about this place, not even their parents. Of course the other two people and Red are dead so they literally took this secrete to the grave like they promised.

'Remember this place C?....Remember what happened? What you didn't do?'

She ignored the voice in her head and carried on walking. After about half an hour later they arrive at a large oak tree its roots showing in most places. It was twisted in a lot of places, mainly the large roots. The tree stood next to a large lake which barley anyone knew about.

One by one the girls climbed over to the tree trunk and slipped down a almost invisible gap between a large root and the tree. The inside of the tree was a little hollow so they could
crouch.

They turned left and crawled through a small fox sized hole. After a while of crawling through the hole it opened up to reveal a person sized box room. They grabbed the bar above their heads to pull their bodies out of the hole and then used it to lower themselves a little before dropping onto a concrete floor.

Naomi put on her phones flash light and everyone pulled out their necklaces. Each girl had a necklace that they kept on them at all times. They were all identical gold lockets with a gold key as well. Red's necklace had been retrieved undamaged by the fire. It was a small tight space and in front of Edith was a door with seven holes for seven keys. Charlie wore Reds necklace on her.

They all unlocked the door with their keys and Captain opened it and stepped into the room. There was a very large room with white walls with a different pattern on each wall; one with zebra stripes on one, sugar skulls on another, then multi colored strips and finally flowers. There was some shelves with pictures on and a cupboard with sleeping things in and games and a fluffy black carpet. A huge dark grey corner sofa with a matching armchair and glass table where in one corner.Katie laid across the armchair and everyone else sat on the sofa. Captain laid on part of he sofa with the head on Naomi's lap. Everyone was exhausted after their busy day and said nothing to each other.

Captain fiddled with her necklace. Eventually she opened it and looked at the pictures inside.

The last two images taken of her two favorite people in life and death. Her twin brother Cyrus and their lil sister Flower.

"Why can't I know now!" Flower moaned tugging at her top.

She let out a scream and giggled as Cyrus picked her up threw her over his shoulder and flung her on the bed.

"Because..." Captain laughed sitting in-between her younger siblings, "Your birthday is tomorrow isn't it!"

"Ugh I suppose..." The 14 year old moaned as Captain started to unpin the flowers from her hair.

Huffing Flower laid down in her sisters bed next to Cyrus and they both watched her as she tucked them in.

"Babes come to bed now, screw studying." Cyrus pleaded.

Captain laughed as her siblings gave her puppy eyes and pouted. One of their childhood traditions was that when it was either the twins or Flowers birthday they would all sleep in the twins room in their bed because it was the biggest. Flowers room was on the other side of the hall next to the bathroom and their parents room was downstairs. She had a major test in two days and she wanted to study tonight so she could spend the day with Flower and her brother for her birthday. Cyrus was just going to study on the tests morning since it was in the afternoon but she wanted to do some more.

"Look I'll be up in a few hours yeah? I promise!" She grinned giving them a kiss each, grabbed her books and headed down stairs.

Suddenly all she could see was fire. She was shouting, screaming for somebody. A door stood in front of her. It wanted her to opened it, she needed to get it opened. She was trying to reach the door but somebody was dragging her away...

"Nooo! Stop it!! Please!!" Captain stood up screaming shaking her head.

Captain snapped back to reality and realized the girls were looking at her trying to calm her down. Charlie grabbed her a pulled her into a hug. She realized she was crying.

"Ssshh...It's OK....What's the matter babe?" Charlie soothed her rocking her.

"It's nothing..." She mumbled.

"Captain..." Glinda started stroking her hair.

"I said it's nothing!" Captain snapped. She went over to the cupboard and got out some bed things. The others did the same, no one saying anything and they all went to bed.
