My dreams were unsettling. They were memories of a man that wasn't me, of a man that had a good life laid out for him and a pretty girl who he was very, very in love with.
I had no real memories to call my own, except the agonising sensation like being burnt alive as Spirit tore at my soul, and the overwhelming fact that the old me was weak, weak, weak.
Roza, I remembered tasting her name in my mouth for the very first time. It felt so right, the two perfect syllables rolling off my tongue.
I had to have her.
Then there was Lissa. Poor, sweet, Lissa who thought she was in control, whose Spirit magic was so, so addicting. But she made me better, stronger than the previous me.
And to think all she had ever wanted was me. She never wanted Christian- all she wished for was me by her side.
I didn't have to keep her around or play around with her heart, but the raw power sparking at my fingertips- yes, that was better than anything the world could offer.
So I played with her desires, and watched as she crumbled like soft sand under my charm.
But that may have been my biggest mistake. In doing so, I unknowingly caused the woman of my dreams to run to the one who seems to be my rival now- Christian Ozera.
I swore to myself that no matter how long it took, I would have my Roza by my side as I strengthened the Dhamphirs one by one.
And she would be the first to be remade for the better.
