I want you, I'll color me blue, anything it takes to make you stay.

"Oh yeah? Please, do share your grand master plan," I muttered, flopping back onto Christian's bed.

"Rose," He let out an exasperated sigh. "This is serious."

"I know," I said. "Just start talking and I'll see if it needs any improvement."

He shook his head slightly, used to my antics.

"What would you do to take revenge on Dimitri breaking your heart?" He asked, shocking me with the bluntness he delivered the question with.

I opened my mouth to deny the fact that Dimitri broke my heart, but decided against it anyways.

Anything. I thought, but answered with a deft, "What methods are we talking about?"

He shot me a wry grin, easily looking through my tough act, sensing my desperation.

"Well, I, for one, would do anything to take my revenge on Lissa." He said.

I grudgingly nodded, letting him know I agreed. "So what?" I bluffed, trying to hide the wounds in my heart.

He leaned forwards in excitement. "What would upset Lissa and Dimitri the most?" He asked deviously.

The gears in my head turned as I mulled over what would Lissa and Dimitri hate the most.

Christian and I reached the same conclusion at the same time, our mouths curling into identical smirks.

"Fake dating."

I shifted uncomfortably in the slinky black dress I dragged from the bottom of my dresser. It was the dress I wore in the school dance, back when I was still pining over Dimitri.

Though the silky black material felt soothingly cold against my skin, it brought back aching memories of when Dimitri was still unchanged.

I thought of the reaction Dimitri had given me back then- he looked and looked and looked, then under the influence of Victor's lust charm, had finally given into the temptation.

I recalled the way he had touched me, the electric currents running underneath our heated skin. The way he murmured my name in Russian like a prayer- Roza, Roza.

I choked on my own saliva. My head spun, my fingers desperately clutching onto the silver bird pendant Christian had given me just moments before just for a small sense of reality.

My breathing cut off at random intervals, bringing me down to my knees at the foot of the bed.

Christian burst into the room, panic lighting up his features. Fire crackled in his palm threateningly, his eyes searching wildly for me.

My heartbeat pounded in my ears. I was deaf to the world, deaf to his shouts for me to snap out of it.

His arms gathered me up, cradling me into his chest, rocking us back and forth in a soothing manner on the bed.

I finally let the barrier blocking my emotions down, letting the tears flood out freely. "It'll be okay, Rose," Christian murmured into my hair. "He'll regret ever cheating on you,"

I sniffed, burying my face into the crook of his neck. Hiccups interrupted my breaths.

We stayed like that for a long time, him murmuring soothing words to me and me shaking in his hold.

Eventually, I got a grip on my emotions again, and forcefully put a stop to the crying.

"I'm okay now," I muttered to Christian. "There's still time to crash their first date as a couple,"

It was a harsh reality now. Lissa had publicly announced that she no longer bore ties to Christian Ozera, the Moroi whose parents chose to become Strigoi, and she was now dating Dimitri.

Using methods ranging from sneaky favours to bitter threats, we had managed to acquire the location of Lissa and Dimitri's first official date- a high class seaside diner named Starlight.

Thankfully, a thick curtain of my hair kept majority of my tears from my dress, nothing a quick blow dry couldn't fix.

Christian nodded grimly. "Then get ready, I'll prep the car."

I strutted confidently out of Christian's gorgeous black Audi R8 Spyder- which, I frankly didn't know about- his hand possessively wrapped around mine.

My appearance was styled exactly the same way as in the dance except for Christian's new mark- the bird pendant he gave me- and I was determined to make Lissa and Dimitri regret their decisions, no matter how long it took us.

True to its name, Starlight was in the open, the gentle sea breeze brushing past my exposed skin, the stars accessible by a mere upward glance.

It was easy to see why so many couples, Moroi or human, came here for a date.

Bright lights swung above the receptionist's table as we waited, imitating the glow of the stars above, giving a slight shading to Christian's sharp features.

His face looks exceptionally handsome in this lighting, I idly thought.

I shook my head, feeling conflicted over the small thought. I looked around to take my mind off him.

Lissa and Dimitri were sitting in the booths by the sea, their hands linked tenderly on top of the tablecloth.

I bit down on the anguished whine that threatened to tear its way out of my throat, not willing to show weakness again.

The waitress came back, drawing my attention as the motioned for us to follow her.

Let's go crash a date.
