Who's gonna walk you through the dark side of the morning?

Who's gonna rock you when the sun won't let you sleep?

Who's waking up to drive you home, when you're drunk and all alone?

Who's gonna walk you through the dark side of the morning?

It ain't me.

The school bell clanged loudly, but not a split second had passed before majority of the Moroi and Dhampirs standing in the gym rushed out into the hall to make a desperate run for the cafeteria.

I wanted to rush to the cafeteria too- all the good food would be gone soon if we were too late. I stared longingly at the hoards of people, but to successfully execute our plan, we had to wait for most of the students to be at the cafeteria to make our grand entrance.

Idly, I wondered what the cafeteria was serving today to make practically all the people rush over. To ease my boredom from just standing aside, I pictured the numerous tables of food in the cafeteria.

While it didn't exactly expel my hunger, it distracted me long enough for most of the Moroi to have left, leaving only the occasional student wandering around.

Christian grabbed my hand and looked at me seriously. "Do you remember the story?"

I rolled my eyes at him. "Are you kidding me?" I pulled my hands back from his hold. "Of course I do, you've drilled it into my mind already."

"Good then," He breathed, snatching my hand again into his own. "We're going in."

We turned the corner, and I internally revised the cover story again. Last night, we had devised this story to cover up our sudden dating, and to pin blame on Lissa and Dimitri. The white light of the cafeteria came into view, and I squeezed Christian's hand tighter. I've never done anything like this, fake dating and using half-assed excuses to cover up our lies.

He brought my hand up and kissed the back of it lightly, and I scooted closer to him. "Ready?" I asked.

"Yep," He said, pulling me along into the cafeteria, where all gazes immediately snapped to us.

I couldn't help but feel a little unnerved, the whole student body watching our every move and taking us into their attention. I immediately put my focus on Lissa and Dimitri- she was looking at us in horror and he was fuming.

Keeping eye contact with Lissa, I stood on my tip-toes and nipped Christian's earlobe gently, watching as Dimitri's expression twisted into a dark snarl and Lissa choked on her salad. I laughed quietly under my breath, secretly relishing their jealousy.

Beside me, Christian teasingly nipped my earlobe back, and I repaid the favor by kissing him flirtily on the cheek, to which he grinned knowingly at me.

Looking around, I drew up my inner actress and started our rehearsed speech. "As most of you know, or at least, have noticed through the weeks, that I and Christian seem a lot closer since the Guardian distribution ceremony." I began, and the crowd started to murmur their theories and comments.

"The truth is, we are dating, and we have been doing so since Dimitri Belikov was turned from a Strigoi back to a Dhampir. The reason behind us not being official before was that Christian was still dating Lissa Dragomir back then, and I was having a brief fling with Dimitri. But last week, we found Lissa in Dimitri's cell half naked and making out, and that finally enabled us to have a legitimate reason to publicly announce our relationship." The crowd was in an uproar now.

The Dragomir princess cheating on her boyfriend with ex-Strigoi Dimitri Belikov and Rose Hathaway being in an undercover relationship with Christian Ozera- I could see why the students were so excited. Two scandals revealed in one speech, and two new couples discovered.

Playing the role of a quiet, laid-back boyfriend, Christian tugged me over to the counters and told me to pick some food out.

Oooh, desserts. I quickly grabbed one of each appealing delicacy, letting Christian pull me onto his lap as we sat down. I took the spoon from the side plate, digging out a slice of tiramisu before putting it near Christian's mouth.

He smiled at me delightedly, surprised that I had offered my food to him. I gave him a sly grin as he moved his neck forwards to eat it- only to brush my lips temptingly against his as I snatched the spoonful for myself.

I heard Mia's giggles from a few tables away from us, obviously showing that she was watching our little impromptu show. I turned at them, giving Eddie a playful wink before actually feeding Christian his food.

"So that went well," I causally whispered into his ear as I twisted around to feed him again.

"Mmm, yes," He mumbled through his mouthful of apple pie. I had polished off my slice of tiramisu in seconds- not even thinking about retaining public appearances in the wake of cake.

"What's next?" I asked, devouring the pie too. Christian pondered his choices, tapping a finger against my hip as he thought.

"I don't really know. But Spring Break's coming soon and you're gonna be going with me back to Tasha's- if that's okay with you?" He replied, looking at me quizzically as I attempted to stuff a whole chocolate tart into my mouth.

I paused my attempts, finally settling on biting the tart in half. "Yeah, okay," I answered through the tart crust, barely avoiding spitting crust flakes into the air.

"Then let's go pack now. We're heading to Tasha's in less than 6 days."
