Screw anything I had ever thought in that car ride- this Spring Break is going to suck, and it's going to suck balls.

When we arrived, Christian showed all of us to a small guest bedroom that held a single king sized bed, a large wooden wardrobe, and a separate bathroom, then promptly told me that I had to share with either Lissa or Dimitri.

Suddenly, Tasha breezed in and said, "Lissa, would you like to share my room? I can sleep on an old mattress while you take the bed for the break,"

Christian proceeded to stare pointedly at her, tilting his head obviously to indicate Dimitri and my presence in the room.

Tasha flushed, attempting to cover her mistake by saying, "Of course, if only Rose and Dimitri are okay with rooming together-"

I cut her off hastily, as I'd much rather room with the dhampir who broke my heart than my lying, backstabbing ex-best friend. "Ah, Tasha, no it's alright! I'm sure Dimitri and I would get along just fine."

I shot Dimitri a pointed look, my stare warning him not to challenge me on my decision to not room with Lissa.

Lissa looked at Dimitri worriedly, her large, doe-like green eyes searching for assurance.

Her eyes made me flash back to the scene in the dungeons.

I watched Dimitri nod at Lissa, showing his agreement of rooming with me, feeling strangely unattached to my own body.

Then Tasha and Lissa left, and my soul settled back into my body from that strange reverie.

Christians face showed up in my peripheral, his concerned ice blue eyes a stark contrast to Lissa's jade green.

His eyes reminded me of soft moans in the night, the silken texture of bedsheets and wild, wanton pleasure.

And then there was Dimitri, watching me carefully from the corner of the room, his chocolate brown eyes betraying no emotion.

His eyes held endless promises of nights spent together in each other's embrace, sweet lovemaking and shattered betrayal all at the same time.

Spirit darkness swirled in the depths of my mind, not enough to influence my thoughts actions, but enough for it to stir my negative thoughts up a little more than usual.

I decided that I needed to get out of the room before everything went out of my control.

Ignoring both Dimitri and Christian, I stepped out of Tasha's cabin and into the thin forest outside, relishing the wind that blew through the trees.

The serenity of the scene soon seeped through, finally soothing the rampaging thoughts I shut into the background of my head.

I sighed, the wind guiding my emotions into a comprehensible pattern.

What could I do now? I was stuck with my Ex, my ex-best friend, my partner in crime and his aunt. And I couldn't exactly leave Christian to deal with them by himself.
