He said, "Don't you see the starlight, starlight? Don't you dream impossible things?"

As Christian and I neared the table we were led to, Lissa spotted us. Her heavily made-up eyes squinted at us uncertaintly, somewhat recognizing us but still unsure in general.
Steeling my nerves, I sent a saucy wink at her way, watching as her eyes widened in horror and she motioned hurriedly at us for Dimitri to see.
I nudged Christian gently, signalling to him that our targets have spotted us. He nodded discreetly, knowing the steps of the plan we had run through earlier as I put on my makeup in his car.
He pulled out my chair for me like a true gentleman, and I kissed his cheek lightly, avoiding leaving a lipstick stain on him.
We ignored Lissa and Dimitri's gasps at the action, instead focusing on the elagantly scripted menu.
Christian smiled charmingly at me. "What do you want to eat, buttercup?"
I shot him a threatening glare under the guise of a horrifying giggle at the pet name.
He hid a smirk as I answered him. "Oh, sweetcheeks, that's so thoughtful of you, asking what I wanted!" I cooed, watching as his smirk turned sour.
He signalled for the waitresses serving us to come take our orders, cursing at me under his breath.
"We're ready to order now," Christian said.
The waitress nodded gracefully, pulling out a pen and a notepad. "Alright, sir what would you and the lady like to drink?"
"A glass of water will be enough for now," He said politely, proceeding to order for the both of us as I tuned him out in favour of eavesdropping the best I could on Lissa and Dimitri.
"Why are they here?" I heard Lissa hiss quietly. Dimitri furrowed his eyebrows in frustration. "They weren't supposed to know- I made sure none of the students would even dare to even hint at where our date would be."
And it was true. He did make sure no one told us where their date was, but he hadn't anticipated was the sneakiness and bundle of threats that was Christian and I.
His expression then took on a more seductive hint. "Would you like to show them how happy we are with each other?"
Lissa grinned, stroking her thumb across his knuckles slowly. "With pleasure."
Then Dimitri leaned over the table, took hold of her face with his hand that wasn't braced on the table, and kissed her tenderly.
My hand shook from the level of oppression I was putting on my emotions.
I took a deep breath, well aware that sadness and hurt would do us no good in this situation. I let the cool, clean air from the sea wash away my sorrows, leaving nothing but a new kind of slow-boiling anger rising inside me.
Christian put his hand on my arm suddenly, putting the tidal wave of anger ready to drown Lissa and Dimitri to a stop.
"What?" I snapped at him, the suppressed cold anger in me lashing out at him.
He didn't seem to care. "We have to wait. Let them see we don't care about their little antics. See that they can't shake us because we are happy in our own little world."
The anger slowly rose again, bitterness now pulled into the mix. "But we're not, Christian-"
A young waiter suddenly stepped forward and put a plate of lasagne in front of me, oblivious to the tension between us. He backed away, terrified by the death glares both I and Christian sent at him.
