The six days passed like a breeze, yet everything was different. After our publicity stunt in the cafeteria, the school had been separated into two factions- one supporting Christian and I, and the other supporting Dimitri and Lissa.

Everyone was staring at us, and frankly, it was getting annoying. I almost preferred back then, when we were in the background with just our group of friends.

And also with Christian still being with Lissa, and Dimitri still falling for you, added my subconscious. The familiar ache surfaced, so I immediately batted the thought away.

Today is a new day, and I didn't need Lissa and Dimitri ruining it.

I checked my bag one last time as Christian and I stepped onto the boarding gates, passing our tickets to flight attendant standing in front of us. Tasha was generous enough to buy us first class tickets, and I took the chance to drink as much free champagne and enjoyed the services provided as much as I could.

The pleasant hum of alcohol was still in my blood as we stepped off the plane, and I felt slightly lightheaded. Christian was a few seats behind me, so he couldn't restrain my alcohol intake. I giggled softly under my breath as Christian neared where I was waiting, gently swaying as I chided myself for letting myself get drunk so easily.

"Rose?" His brow furrowed funnily, making the stunning blue of his eyes stand out against the black of his eyelashes. His eyes look good, I thought to myself. "Did you seriously just get yourself drunk in a few hours?" He sighed, grabbing my arm to steady me.

I watched him carefully as he took his phone out from his pocket, calmly punching in numbers with familiarized ease. "Aunt Tasha?" He said after a while. "Can you drive us home? Rose got drunk off the champagne served on the plane."

"I am not drunk. I'm just... slightly buzzed."

Christian just ignored me, slipping his phone back into his pocket when the jumbled chatter on the other side died down. He took my arm and pushed me down onto a nearby bench. "Stay here. I'm going to get you some water."

I nodded obediently even though he had already turned, and waited.

And waited. And waited more, until I couldn't take it and my nerves were getting frazzled and unease was growing rapidly.

Was he okay? I had to get to Christian.

The remaining haze of alcohol muddling my brain dispersed, making way for clear, organized thoughts pointing me in potential ways Christian could've gone.

I made my way towards the convenience store near the road, whipping my head around sharply to search for any sign of Christian.

"What do you mean, you're coming around for break?" The words registered faintly in my brain, and I noticed Christian standing in front of the store.

But he wasn't alone. There were two other people standing in front of him, both looking very familiar.

I broke into a run, unsure if the people were threats. When I neared, Christian was waving his hands agitatedly, saying, "Why would you tell Tasha that you're coming over?"

I finally got a good look at the person in front of Christian.

Of course, it would be Lissa and Dimitri. Like my Spring Break wasn't complicated enough- being forced to live with the dude who I had a sort of one night stand with, and oh, did I mention that he was my charge?

And now Lissa was here, and so was Tasha. Seeing Christian and Lissa arguing, she pushed the car horn once, twice, then three times, almost blasting out all our ears.

"Tasha," Dimitri was the first to react, smoothly greeting the lady in the driver's seat.

I gave a weak wave to Tasha before turning to watch Christian start to whisper-yell at Lissa again.

Leaning in slightly, I managed to catch a few sentences.

"You told Aunt Tasha that you were going to come here for break?" Christian said, his lips curving into an angry frown.

"You can't blame me for that, can you?" Lissa pouted. "I have nowhere else to go."

I could see Christian's face softening. Don't fall for her tricks, I willed him.

His face hardened again. "You're no stray. Your new boytoy most likely has his own apartment- go live with him or something."

Dimitri stepped forwards, neither confirming or denying Christian's statement. "Actually, I wanted to visit Tasha. Or is it a crime now to visit your friends?" He sneered.

I walked over to them, entwining my fingers with Christian's. "Honestly, Comrade, you should just get an apartment. Then maybe you two can make out without getting discovered, huh?" I spat, unable to keep the words from tumbling out of my mouth.

Tasha honked at us again, this time shocking all of us out of our argument.

"That's enough. I don't know what happened between you four, but now that we're here, no one is going back before school starts again."

We all piled into the car quietly, but with my seat in the back with Christian, I ended up half on his lap anyways.

How did the week originally planned for letting us take a break from each other become yet another challenge for our revenge plot?

I sighed, moving soundlessly to allow Christian more space for his long legs. We'd swapped positions a few more times during the ride back, me eventually ending up completly on his lap.

After what seemed like hours of silence, Christian smirked at me suggestively, and I immediately knew he would do something absolutely despicable.

"Christian, no," I said, but he only waggled his eyebrows.

"I lost my teddy bear," He paused, waiting to break out the next line. "Can I hug you instead?"

"Christian, that was so bad, it made me want to puke." I deadpanned. "Challenge accepted- I will beat you in this pickup line war."

The bastard dared to laugh in my face, saying, "Try your best, Rose. You'll never beat me."

I grinned at him wickedly, racking my brain for a good pickup line. "Are you a camera? 'Cause every time I see you, I smile."

Christian scowled, annoyed that I came up with a pickup line better than his. "You smell like trash-"

I gasped, thoughts of pickup lines not being like that beginning to form in my head, but Christian had already moved on. "So let me take you out." He finished, grinning at me triumphantly.

"Do you feel my shirt?" I fired back, putting his hand on my shirt. "It's made of girlfriend material."

Christian opened his mouth to retort, but was cut off by Dimitri, who had turned over to complain at us. "Will you two keep quiet? Some of us are trying to sleep."

I arched an eyebrow, saying, "Sleep, or sleep together?"

"I don't see how our talking is affecting your sleep. See?" Christian continued, pointing at Lissa. "She's still knocked out."

Dimitri glared at us, unable to respond. He reached down, took out a pack of earplugs, and went back to sleep.

"Pound it?" I whispered, holding my fist out.

"Pound it." Christian confirmed, connecting his knuckles to mine in a forceful fist bump.

The car filled with our soft laughter, and suddenly, the upcoming days didn't seem so bad.
