I woke for what seemed like the hundredth time that night with my body feeling like it was on fire. I breathed out hard and reached out and slid my body on top of his. He smiled, but made no effort to open his eyes. "Your appetite seems to be insatiable, Kayla. Am I not feeding it properly?" I shook my head because I was sure he knew the answer anyway. I wanted something different this time.

My wolf purred as I rubbed against him and the most sensitive spots on my body tingled with pleasure. 'Before, I was only yours by a claim. My wolf desires the same claim. She desires all of you.' With that thought, I rocked my body against his and as he pulled me harder against him, I brought my mouth down and allowed my canines to sink into the skin on his neck. His sweaty, salty, and delicious taste sent me into my own world of pleasure as he rocketed us up into a sitting position. I waited until both of our bodies seemed to ease into a dull tremble before I released my bite on his neck and licked over the open wound.

When I lifted my head, I looked into his eyes and he looked up at me with a bewildered look in his eyes. I smiled and whispered his name. "Dante."

Immediately, he flipped me over and pinned my wrists to the bed as I felt a low growl erupt from his chest. "Who am I?" I smiled as I lifted my body up towards him, missing the heat that his body offered against mine. He effectively pushed and pinned me back against the bed, not allowing me the pleasure of contact with his body except in the way that he wanted. "You will tell me who I am first." I nodded and fought my body's reaction to him ineffectively. I answered in a sensual moan. "You are my Lord Alpha."

I looked up at him and he smirked before he lowered himself back down and I felt the sharpness of his fangs as he asserted ownership over me once again and we both soared into the clouds together.

I opened my eyes and smiled. His room. His bed. His. I was his. I smiled even bigger. And he was mine. Even the thought of that purple haze that hung over the ocean could not change my ecstasy in that moment. I rolled over and placed my hand where I expected his chest to be, but instead it fell onto an empty space in the bed. I sighed.

'Good morning, my sweet Kayla.'

I looked up to see him standing by the window and the smile on my face spread wide as I stood and picked up his shirt off the floor and slipped it on and stepped over towards him. As I buttoned the shirt, he lifted his hands to my waist and pulled me toward him. I smiled up at him.

'You make me want to take it right back off you.'

He smirked while he spoke it to my mind and I laughed. 'I wouldn't mind it. In fact, I'll help.' I smirked back as I lifted my hands and unbuttoned the top button which revealed more of my chest to him. He looked down and pulled me against him as he laughed out loud. "Ahh, Kayla. I would spend eternity in bed with you if I felt like it would be enough, but if it wasn't before, it definitely won't be now that you have marked me."

I smiled and glanced downward at his bare chest and let my eyes slowly fall to his deliciously chiseled abs. I subconsciously licked my lips, but Dante's laughter succeeded in breaking me out of my moment of visual pleasure. "Side effects. Now you know what it was like for me before." I nodded and smiled. "Dante, I have to admit that my reasons for doing it were slightly...err...maybe even mostly selfish." I glanced up at him sheepishly. He nodded. "I assumed as much. If you had claimed me before I probably wouldn't have..." He stopped and I blinked as a memory that seemed so distant, and yet still so real came back like a tidal wave and I shivered and pushed away from him.

I looked down at my hand and ran my finger across one of the several lingering scars that were a result of that day, and I shuddered. He immediately pulled me back against him and I turned in his arms and smiled. "I forgave you, but I didn't forget. What hurt me the most was that I thought I had lost you...forever." I blinked and turned in his arms. "I almost did." He smiled down at me and nodded. "But I am here now, amica mea. Never to leave your side again." He stepped back and snapped his finger. "Which reminds me. You're coming with me. I have a meeting with my First and Second Enforcers." I scrunched my eyebrows. "That usually wouldn't involve me." He nodded. "Usually, but I'm not ready to have you more than an arm's length away from me yet, so you'll just have to make do."
