Dedicated to @Aillurophilee because you are a sweetheart <3 :*

If you really think this is a story where Shamaaz realizes his feelings for Bya and becomes the type of guy she wants to marry, 'change' entirely for her, well then... *I'm not saying anything after this* :P have fun figuring out. Maybe it's not as complicated as you think. Or maybe it is :p

Some of you have been asking me to put up a schedule for updates. While I'd love to do that, honestly, I can't. I literally have to squeeze in updates past midnight (More like early morning) at this point in my life and I don't want to give you a date and disappoint you  by not meeting the deadline. I'd rather surprise you with one because I absolutely hate it when writer's don't follow schedules. Hence, I don't keep one. I update whenever time permits, which would mostly be during weekends. Hope that makes sense. Happy reading <3

Chapter 23:

Oh Snap

Wrapping her arms around her, Anabya stared out of the balcony, a sigh escaping her lips.

She had just finished mailing the last of the stories for the day to Mrs. M and while other times she would have just hit the bed, today she needed this. She didn't know if it was a curse or a blessing, but she always felt a little too deeply and cared a little too much. And that is exactly why Shamaaz's earlier question was bothering her all evening.

As she thought back, she couldn't think of a single time when she looked at him as anything but trouble. She had never before met a guy like him because she stayed away from all guys in general; so when he walked into her life as her neighbor, she knew better than to even spare him a glance, forget thinking anything else.

Even to this day he was nothing more than a neighbour to her, a guy she had to take the extra step to stay away from because he didn't know the rules of her life.

And today, he went ahead and asked her the question that hadn't even remotely crossed her mind.

Marriage? Really?

First things first, at the moment with one year of college left, Anabya wasn't considering marriage at all. And getting married to Shamaaz?

This had to be some ridiculous joke.

No matter how much she thought about it, she couldn't, for the life of her, think of any reason why a guy like Shamaaz would want to marry a girl like her. She did not believe in the 'opposites attract' theory and let's be real, to spend life together you had to have some common grounds.

And there was practically nothing they had in common. She didn't know much about him, sure, but of how much she had seen him, the guy repulsed her. She couldn't stand his very presence and she found it utterly preposterous of him to have actually asked her that question.

What was he really thinking?

For her, he was a guy too full of himself for whom life was about fun and frolic. His modern Muslim mentality wasn't convincing and she didn't even know if he prayed or not. Being a cricketer, his life was full of girls and glamour.

Oh, and he had read her journal. No matter how much she tried, she couldn't erase that out of her memory!

He had voluntarily skimmed through her personal stuff and her face heated up every time she thought about it.
