Sooo... approximately four cupcakes and jim jams later, the next chapter in Shamaaz and Bya's story is here lol. But before we move on, I have an ANNOUNCEMENT to make. I'm holding a tiny contest and want to know if you would like to make me a nice cover for #BOBTB. If interested, please mail me your beautiful creations at hopesprayersnsmiles@gmail.com. I have one requirement though, whatever cover you make, just make sure it's a back/ side portrait where you can't really see the character's face (my bestie thinks I'm too fussy with covers :p). I'll add them in the next chapter (Which may be a week or weeks away idk tbh) and all of us readers can judge. The cover that wins would get to be the official cover of this book for a few months or permanently too. Super excited to see what you have in store :)

For updates on my life and where I'm held up leading to late updates, you can follow me on instagram at sarah.m3k. ;) One last thing, shoutout to my readers who've been nominating me in contests and asking others to do the same. You guys are amazing, like what did I do to get such beautiful readers? *happy tears and watery smiles*

And now... let's get this party started. Happy reading in sha Allah <3

The world is but a (quick passing) enjoyment; and the best enjoyment of the world is (to have) a pious wife."

Chapter 29:

Blurred Lines

"Mamma, yaar, come on," Shamaaz groaned in the video call while Tanzila grinned in amusement.

"What do you want me to do? You've reached the age of marriage, you're getting a wife home in a few weeks time, deal with your own problems."

"Only you can help me, Mamma please," he sulked.

"I told Nikhat, but apparently it's haraam!" She drawled.

"But we're engaged, I'm her fiancé, like it's official! The least we can do is talk on the phone and get to know each other, it's not like we're going out, is it?" He reasoned.

"But they don't think that way, beta. According to them, you can do all this once the nikah is done."

Shamaaz groaned, "Not fair."

Tanzila laughed at his expression and reminded, "You asked for it. What are you going to do now?"

"Count the days until our wedding and live in torture, obviously," he replied causing Tanzila to laugh yet again.

They spoke for a few more minutes and after hanging up, Shamaaz looked at their conversation for the millionth time. Initially, he had thought Bya was shy and since it was all so sudden and new, she wasn't comfortable texting him. A couple of days later, however, he got her number from his mother and took the first step.

Hey Bya! - Shamaaz

What Shamaaz? - Bee

How did you know it was me? - Shamaaz

Isn't it obvious? - Bee

Did you have my number already and were you secretly stalking me? - Shamaaz

Yeah right! >.< No one apart from you calls me Bya. - Bee
