Chapter 22 Lis
Tori comes into the kitchen and gags and I feel a tiny bit hurt.
"Are they.... Is that....prawns?" She asks.
"Yeah" I reply shovelling several into my mouth.
She says something about hating prawns and I try to think fast deciding to offer to cook more food. She declines and grabs some fruit sitting opposite me.
"Wazup dude?" She asks and I can see how awkward she feels.
"Not much" I reply shifting my head so my hair falls around my face.
"So..you like to read? I saw your books back on the window.." She trails off
"Yeah" I reply cautiously
"Me too!" She shouts excitedly and I wonder for a second if she's faking her excitement.
"What's your favourite book?"
"The Forsaken" Tori replies simply.
"Oh yeah, I love that book!, my favourite book's The Host have you read it?"
"No but I seen the movie" she says obviously relieved that I'm talking.
We launch into a conversation ranging from shoes, clothes, style and books within which I learn that she likes to write and I tell her that I love crop tops which seemed to surprise her. I also discover that we are the same size shoe which I think means that we'll be able to share out shoes!
