Chapter 33 Tori

I laugh.

Lis stares at me in shock and the boys exchanged a confused look.

"You've gotta be kidding me Lis, nice joke" I said and suddenly her shock turned to terror.

My laughter dies in my throat and Lis shakes her head.

It was silent for a moment.

"Oh you weren't kidding were you?" I say quietly looking at the boys for a minute and dread filled my stomach.

"What time is it?" I ask no one in particular.

"Almost seven thirty" Ambrose said.

"Shit, we have to go!" I whispered.

I slipped off the couch and realised I wasn't wearing my shoes looking around carefully and locating them at the door.

I grabbed Lis's hand and pushed passed the boys slipping my Vans on.

"Why the fuck would you wear them today?" I whispered to Lis extremely annoyed that she would pick something like that when I had told her that we were exploring. She had to expect something like this.

Ambrose's POV

When Tori laughed I was so confused it made no sense to me.

She slipped off the couch and grabbed Ayalisse's hand pulling her to the door.

She was muttering furiously and Lis looked terrified but I was so confused it was almost laughable.

Darrel shot me a worried glance and I glared at him.

The girls were already running down the steps of the cabin and I knew they wouldn't be coming back so I rushed after them.

Tori had only just reached the top step when I grabbed her wrist stopping her.

"Let go of me Perv!" She said and Lis whirled around.

She was already halfway down the stone path and I wondered how girls could move so fast in heels.

"Stay" I said mentally cursing myself.

"Why?" Tori snapped but I could see how much my words had shocked her.

"Because I...."

How the hell was that sentence supposed to end. I wanted her to stay. When I saw her today I almost smiled. Like really smiled. I didn't know what it was about this girl that I liked. I didn't know anything about her. But somehow when she was there I felt,... alive.

She shook her head and I could see she didn't understand what I really wanted. I could tell she was confused.

Her wrist slipped from my grip and she turned jumping down the steps to stand beside Lis.

They turned together and started walking down the path Tori's hands on Lis's back pushing her further away.

Just before they disappeared from sight Tori looked back at me and smiled a genuine smile.

"See you around" she said quietly and left they left.
