Chapter 3 Tori
My step-father pulled up out the front of the airport in the taxi section and I got out. The boot was popped when I reached the back of the car and I pulled my rather large black suitcase quickly out of the car and dragged it up to the curb. Mum had gotten out of the car too and shut the boot coming around to stand beside me on the curb.
"Where's Anton going?" I asked suspiciously when my step-father pulled away from the curb and drove away.
"To park the car and he's Dad to you now" mum smiled but I could tell she wasn't happy with me and my attitude.
"He's not my dad' I snapped, grabbing my suitcase and leading it through the front doors.
"Honey wait up!" I heard mum shout and then the familiar tap tap of her heels as she rushed across the foyer to catch up with me.
With my ticket in my left hand and the handle of my suitcase in my right I walked up to the nearest desk and forced a fake smile, handing the clerk my ticket.
"Your passport?" The clerk asked while I mentally slapped myself.
"Here" mum said handing the clerk my passport and whispering to me: "told you not to forget anything"
The clerk quickly handed me my boarding card and directed us to my departure area where I hugged mum good-bye and narrowly avoided a kiss before slipping through security and boarding the plane that would take me far away from home.
I settled in a window seat, my suitcase having gone into the luggage loading area. I kept my laptop bag with me though. I didn't want to lose my laptop or my phone, ever. With a whole 14 hours ahead of me, I quickly pulled my laptop out and turned it on. I might be a badass back at home but I loved to write.
