Chapter 35 Tori
I couldn't believe this. It wasn't that hard to climb a wall I'd done it plenty of times before but I knew Lis hadn't.
I couldn't go back to the dorm alone that would prove me to be a chicken. Then again, going back to the cabin would mean I was a chicken too so it didn't actually matter which way it went, I was a chicken.
"I hate you Lis, I hope you know that" I said to her when I finally caught up with her.
"Excuse me?" Lis said stopping.
I kept walking for a moment but when she didn't follow me I stopped and turned to face her.
We were standing in the middle of the Academy oval, cross the oval all the way and follow the edge of it about 20 metres and we'd be at the stone path leading to the cabin.
"What?" I said confused.
"You hate me? Why are you here if you hate me?" Ayalisse shouted and I stepped back in shock.
As far as I knew she never shouted until tonight.
"I don't hate you. I didn't mean it like that" I said shaking my head.
"What the hell did you mean then?" Lis looked close to tears and I was so close to screaming.
"Look, I'm not used to having friends. I was a popular badass girl back at home because I was a bitch who had no feelings" I sighed not really wanting to go on.
Lis was staring at me like everything I was saying made no sense.
"Okay... Okay not helping. Try again, talk sentences that make sense" I muttered to myself.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes!" I cried out stepping away from Lis as she stepped toward me "Yes I'm fine. I just...." I sighed again and then groaned frustratedly running my fingers through my hair and then pulling on it angrily.
"Whoa, whoa Tori stop!" Lis said stepping closer again.
"No!" I shouted "please stop, don't come any closer" I whispered.
Ayalisse froze and I saw her hesitation and the confusion in her eyes. I could tell she was confused.
I dropped to my knees holding my head in my hands angrily.
"Tori?" Lis said quietly.
I sucked in a breath but I didn't move. I didn't want to answer her.
"Tori?" A male voice called.
"Oh My God!" I heard Lis whisper dropping down beside me "Tori get up, it's them" she whispered in my ear.
My shoulders shook with the effort to hold in my tears I was so angry. I didn't cry because I was sad, I cried because I was angry.
"Tori please, get up!" Lis whispered shaking me.
"Get away!" I screamed finally looking up. "Go!"
Ayalisse jumped to her feet in fright and tumbled back onto the ground staring at me in horror.
"Tori!" Ambrose called dropping down on his knees beside me.
He took my shoulders and tried to turn me but I was staring at Lis's terrified expression.
I closed my eyes "I'm sorry" I whispered bursting into tears.
Ambrose pulled me onto his lap and I turned into him crying into his shoulder while he rocked us back and forth.
