Chapter 23

Chapter 23 Tori

Suddenly Ayalisse and I were talking about shoes, clothes, books and other interests we had in common. She and I had been talking for about 3 hours having drunk at least 6 cups of tea. Eventually I got tired and Ayalisse made the decision to go to bed. We crawled into our beds and Ayalisse whispered good night.

I lay on my back staring at the ceiling for a moment. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face I had had so much fun today and for once it wasn't me acting.

"Hey Ayalisse" I say and she mumbled but didn't form a coherent sentence.

I waited and after a minute she said "Yeah?"

"Can I call you Lis?" I ask.

There was no reply and I wondered if she'd fallen asleep. I opened my mouth to speak but she beat me to it.

"Lis" she says and I can hear the experimentation in her voice. "I like it" she says and I can just imagine her smile.

"Okay" I answer not sure wether I'm supposed to say anything else.

"Good night Tori" Lis says.

"Night Lis"

I woke up the next morning because someone was jumping on my bed.

"What... The... Fuck?" I muttered.

"Wake up, wake up, wake up!" Someone was shouting and it took me only a minute to realise who it was.

"Lis!" I shout frustratedly reaching out blindly and slapping her feet "Stop!" I still hadn't opened my eyes.

"We have class" Ayalisse sung collapsing on the bed beside me.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"8 something" Lis said and I laughed.

"8 something" I repeated.

"Yeah eight-thr..." She trailed off sitting up on the bed and peering over at the clock "8:45" she finishes.

I bolt upright and stare at my feet under the blanket in disbelief.

"Shit! We're going to be late!"
