Chapter Five | The Dinner
"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it's a memory."
-Dr. Suess

"How about this?" He walked out with a plain blue plaid button up and a pair of jeans. I craned my neck to the side, thinking that that would make a difference. I walked up to him and rolled up his sleeve till it reached his elbow then did the same to the other arm. I backed up and took another look.

"Better." I nodded. He looked at me intently. I scrunched my nose. "What?" He smiled and shook his head.

"Nothing. Should I pick something else out?" He asked turning to look in the mirror. I shook my head.

"No, I think you look good." I said but before I could mention that we never got the ice cream, a saleswoman came up.

"Are you guys all set here?" She asked in a sweet voice. She was tall. She towered over me easily, but then again, anybody could tower over me.

"Yes thank you." I said back with a smile which. She turned and walked away. "She seems nice." I said as I walked up to him and handed him the pair of jeans, sweater, and shirt he had been wearing before which I decided to fold to make things neater.

"I think she was just doing her job, Hals."

"You're so pessimistic." I started. "Anyway, are we gonna go get that ice cream because I'm in the mood for some soft serve." I finished. He chuckled.

"Yes sure, let me just pick out a few more things then we can go."

"Okay." I said and looked around the store for nothing in particular. "I wonder who is going to dinner tonight. Hopefully, it isn't a weirdo."

"You're awfully social today." He said jokingly but I still looked up at him with a slightly annoyed expression.

"You know, you don't have to point out every time I feel like talking and when I don't." I said then took a seat on one of the benches with Bellamy's clothes still in my hand because he keeps walking away and looking at more clothes so o refuse to follow him.

"Sorry, it's just overwhelming." I roll my eyes subtly.

"Haha."

"Awe don't be upset. I'm just observing!" He says dramatically, throwing his hand up into the air. I decide to let it go and rest my eyes a little. My head still hurts from all the lights in this store but I'll live. My back is against the wall and my head is resting comfortably on the clothing rack beside me.

"Hey wake up!" Bellamy whispers in my ear loudly. My eyes snap open and I jump slightly. He extends his hand out to me while he is dying of laughter which I take and he pulls me up from my actually comfortable position.

"You're horrible and I say that wholeheartedly." I tell him. Then I realize our close proximity. "And I have a bubble." I say pushing him away awkwardly. Due to how close he was I could smell the heavy scent of pine and old spice.

He stops laughing and furrows his eyebrows. "A bubble?" The corner of his lips tugs upwards in amusement as he spoke. I was being serious. Ever since I was a little I hated being too close to somebody unless it was my family, of course. That I could stand.

"Yes," I start. "A space bubble." I sigh. When I fished talking. He taps his chin with his index finger.

"I see."
