Chapter seven | Forced Enjoyment

I woke up to the burning sun in my eyes. I sat up slowly, instantly regretting my decision as a painful amount of tiredness strikes me. "Hey, sis." A shriek escapes my throat. My heart was racing and beating a million beats per second. Just as I was trying not to cry from being scared so suddenly, I heard the most unique yet totally weird laugh that I knew was Tai's beside me.

"W-What the heck, Tai!" I gasp and turn to see him sitting on the floor. I throw and pillow from behind me directly at him and watched as he got hit in the face, replaying it in slow motion over and over in my mind.

"I just wanted to say bye before I go." He set the pillow beside him. My eyes widened and I dropped myself onto the floor next to him.

"What do you mean? You are my ride! You have to wait." I said poking him in the shoulder. His lips pressed into a fine line and his head dropped. He shooed away my hand but wrapped an arm around my shoulder and pulled my closer. "What?" I asked, shifting slightly uncomfortable from my little knowledge.

"I'm leaving, Lil' brat." He said his voice quiet but still sounded kind of humorous somehow. I rolled my eyes, thinking he was talking about going to school earlier.

"What do you mean, Donkey face." He looked at me weirdly then shook his head with a smirk.

"I mean I'm leaving." He started and I started to get I up a little. "I have to live with Aunt Eliza for a few months." I pushed off the floor fully and he followed. "Before you ask, it's because they have better academics over there and mom wants me to enroll in their boarding school. Once summer is here, I'll be back. I was out all day getting last minute things" He smiled.

I stood there for a minute to gather my thoughts. Then I decided. I reached forward and hugged him. "I'm so proud of you, Big brother." I mumbled into his chest. He laughed and detached me as if I was Velcro.

"I have to go though. My stuff is already in the car. I'll see you soon." My lips pressed into a fine line and my eyes started to tingle in an uncomfortable way. "I love you, Lil' brat!" He said and placed a quick kiss on my cheek. I rolled my eyes but kept a smile on my face and waved at him as he left.

My stomach twisted. My family is very close. It would feel so horrible having Tai gone for all of us. I went to the bathroom to wash my face and shower really quickly. I woke up quite early today, surprisingly.

When I got back into my room. I changed into a pair of ripped jeans and a Champion hoodie. I also blow dried my hair and did my make up.

After I was ready I ran down stairs in an attempt to save my Fruit Loops before Malik finds them all because he will for sure eat them all. He is like a vacuum when it comes to food. He honestly won't even care what it is he is eating as long as it's not toxic.

I ran through the hall not paying any attention and down the stairs but midway down I run into Bellamy's back, causing us both to fall forward. It wasn't too many steps but it still hurt. A lot. "Oh my god... Hadley what the hell?!" He said hissing after a few words each time. He was sitting up and clutched his ankle, his jaw clenched tightly and his eyes squeezed together tightly.

"I'm sorry." I sat up beside him and rubbed my lower back because I had somehow landed on my back when I fell.

"This is hilarious." Both Bellamy and I look behind us to see Malik with a bowl in his hands. As he lifted the spoon to his mouth I noticed a colorful cereal on his spoon. A gasp and I struggled to get to my feet.
