Kitty, I'll be at the rooftop. Meet me there.❤

What's it that time? He'd been extra-flirty these days.

I had to admit I was enjoying the attention, but no. We're not supposed to cross the line.

If we do, it will be crazy like hell. Not when I was on the verge of overstepping our boundaries.

I reached the rooftop with tired feet. Soon as I entered, I rested for a while to loosen up my worked-up muscles. Five floors wasn't a joke. When I felt relieved, I walked farther to look for him.

His back was on me. His bag was on the floor. When he turned, I winced in surprise. That's because he was holding a white rose in his hands. Secondly, because I felt my heart jump. Shoot. It couldn't be happening. But why did my heart jump like that? It's throbbing fast.

He grinned widely at me before crossing our distance. He kissed my forehead.

"I have something important to tell you," he began.

I swallowed in nervousness but my heart kept on leaping. "I don't think that's a good idea."

"Hear me it out first," he said. "Do you like this rose in my hands?"

Damn. I didn't like where that was going.

"I'd prefer red," I replied trying to keep it cool.

He scowled. "But it's fine, right?"

I nodded.

"Good," he smiled again.

"Look, Ethan. I should stop you now," I warned.

"Stop me?" he asks, wondering.

"Yes," I responded. "I think you have to think it through first."

He scratched my chin with his index finger and smiled.

"I've thought about it, Kitty," he spoke. "Let's join Glee Club."

My mouth opened in surprise. "What?"

"We both love music. I think it's the right club for us," he explained.

What the hell? I looked around in confusion. When I looked back, the rose got my attention.

"What's with the rose?" I inquired.

"I'm going to give it to Lucy."

Lucy? Who the hell was Lucy?

I didn't care who Lucy was, though. I thought I felt the time stop when he said that. My heart stopped from throbbing. I was frozen. The throb in my heart change to series of pang.

Was this what Lance had told me? Was this warning of being on the verge of falling for Ethan?

"Kitty, are you okay?" he asked, worry marked in his face.

I just looked at him. I couldn't move or speak. I felt my chest throb painfully. My heart kept on beating rapidly. I couldn't breathe, either. I could barely hear Ethan anymore. I felt dizzy before I completely fainted in his arms.

I woke with the sound of his voice and other gentlemen. I was brought to the clinic by the smell of the place. I slowly opened my eyes and the blurry image of Ethan in front of me finally became clear.

"Kitty! Thank God, you're awake! You've got me very worried!" He kissed my hands that I didn't realize he was holding.

I opened my mouth to speak. "Sorry."

"You could just tell me you didn't like the idea instead of passing out on me like that!" he scolded.

"Stop scolding her."

When I checked who it was, I saw Lance, leaning on the wall.

"What happened, Kitty?" Ethan asked, ignoring Lance. "Your hand was on your chest before you passed out."

"I can't tell, either. Maybe it's the stress of schooling," I thought.

"Don't you pass out like that on me again!" he scolded.

Behind him I saw Lance roll his eyes. My attention was caught by the white rose placed on the table. He didn't give it yet.

"I thought you were giving that to Lucy," I told him.

"Lucy can wait. But you. Are you sure you're okay? We can go to the hospital."

I laughed at his words. He's really worried. He obviously has cared for me to set aside his impending lovelife.

I shook my head. "I'm fine."

He narrowed his eyes at me.

"I'm really fine. I can't lie right now, Ethan. Not when you're looking at me like that," I told him.

Lance approached us, making Ethan hiss in disapproval. I thought he has forgotten about the kiss. I smiled bitterly in my mind. Why was he acting like a jealous boyfriend when moments ago he told me about his potential girlfriend.

"I'm going out to buy some food. What do you want?" he asked but was just directly looking at me.

"We'll have two regular-sized whoppers and two cups of Coca-Cola. Now leave," Ethan answered.

Lance rolled his eyes once again. I couldn't help but laugh. Ethan was glaring at me, though.
