We reached Arcadia after half an hour of travel. When we have come in, the place was already filled with people. Roving lights and loud music welcomed us.
One of our company, Drake excused himself to get the drinks. The four of us, Mark, Daphne, Kitty, and I headed to our reserved table. Kitty was between me and Mark while Daphne sat beside me.
Daphne is Drake's sister. When we first met, she tried to kiss me. She said she liked me. That's why she did it. Who actually learns to like someone at first glance?
I turned to the other woman next to me and answered my mental question.
I did.
She didn't talk to me after my confession in her apartment. She was trying to avoid me but I kept on following her.
Drake came back already with a girl on his arm. She was blonde. She wore a gold dress that barely covered her girly parts.
When Drake has introduced her to us, she was actually too friendly. She kissed Mark. She tried to kiss me, too, but I was quick to push her. Daphne glared at her while Kitty just looked away.
After some moments, our drinks finally came. Drake ordered tequila for the boys, and margarita for the girls.
"So you're the Kitty," Daphne said in her English accent.
Surprised, Kitty nodded.
"And you're back with Ethan here?" she asked.
Kitty frowned. "I'm not sure about what you mean."
Mark tried to give her a knowing look but she didn't take her eyes off of Kitty.
"Oh come on. Don't be coy. You -- "
Mark stopped her by giving her a drink. "Have a drink, Daph."
She rolled her eyes. "As I was saying, you can't deny it anymore. I'd get it if you're back with Ethan."
Kitty's frown got deeper. "Are you implying that we broke up?"
Damn. This was bad. I should stop them. I invited Kitty for a dance but she denied. I gave her another margarita but she said she's fine. Damn. Was I doomed?
Daphne laughed bitterly. "Yes. I mean I would totally understand it. You look good together. Ethan is good-looking and you're very pretty. No wonder he was obsessing about you over the years. Especially when he's drunk and gets very insane. He once turned this club as his concert stage and sang like crazy. It wasn't that bad, though, because he has a good voice."
Kitty's frown left her face. Surprise marked her pretty visuals.
I heard Mark cursed before excusing himself for a bathroom break.
"Obsessing?" Kitty reiterated.
Daphne nodded. "Yes. When he came here, he kept on talking about you. We even thought he was gay who liked Hello Kitty. Turned out he was talking about you."
I felt my face flush. Daphne was really a blabber with a very big mouth. I felt Kitty's heavy stare on me. I tried to divert the topic by asking her to dance but she denied me again. I was doomed.
"I'm a bit hurt but I'd understand. I mean, who dares to argue with love?" Daphne said before heading to the dance floor.
"Obsessing, huh," Kitty muttered from beside me.
"Daph was exaggerating. I missed you. That's why I kept talking about you," I explained.
"What about the incident of turning this place as your concert stage?" she asked.
I clenched my jaw. Daphne really has a big mouth!
"I was drunk and wasted and helpless," I answered.
"You could've just picked up the phone and called me," she scolded. "I've been here the whole time."
"I thought you were in Barcelona. I thought you changed your digits."
She hissed at me and gritted her teeth. I could tell she's frustrated. "Dumbass."
I scoffed. "Would you answer if I call? Would you come if I ask you?"
"I don't know! Maybe!" she shouted. "Why would I say No?"
Damn it. She's mad. Very mad.
"I don't know. Maybe because you're in a relationship with Lance," I replied.
She bit her lip in frustration. "How many times do I have to tell you about it? Lance and I are just friends!"
That made my heart skip a beat. Somehow it gave me relief.
"But you have a baby with him," I sadly said.
Her mouth shaped an O when I said that. She did not speak. She looked away from me. It was long before she has glanced back at me. She took two glasses of margarita before she has spoken again.
"The song sounds melodic. Care to dance with me?" she asked, her breath hitching.
I sighed. I thought she'll tell me something else. I nodded. She pulled me up and led me to the crowd of drunk and heated people on the dance floor.
Kitty put her arms on each of my shoulder. I hauled her waist to mine.
She smirked so I smirked back. We're back to being fine.
We danced to Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You."
The crowd moved a bit farther from us when we have made a scene. They surrounded us and watched us perform a sultry dance on the dance floor.
The crowd whistled and yelled when we have finished performing. We walked back to our table and took our seats. Mark and Daphne followed our arrival. Then Drake and his date for the night.
"That was one sultry dance, man," Drake commented.
"It was," Mark agreed. "I'd be surprised if Ethan wasn't turned on."
I smirked and drank a shot of tequila before glancing at Kitty whose face was flushed. She was sweating. I grabbed my handkerchief from my pocket and wiped the sweat off her neck.
"Aw," Daphne expressed. "You're so sweet, Ethan."
"So sweet. I think I'm going to melt," Mark teased.
"I think you need a date," Kitty teased back and glanced at Daphne.
"Why are you looking at me? No! I'm not dating that piece of arse!" Daphne exclaimed.
We laughed except for Mark who was then already scowling.
"Like I would date you," he trashed against Daphne.
"But you might want her," Drake joined in.
Daphne glared at him. "I'm really feeling your brotherly love, Drake. Thanks a lot."
"She's pretty. If I was a lesbo, I'd hook up with her," Drake's date said.
We laughed again. The two were staring coldly when Kitty excused herself to go to the comfort room. I wanted to help her but the gentlemen with me teased me and asked me to sit down.
