After two hours of eating and socializing, the school head called in for our club leader. He called for Lance and introduced him before giving him the mic.

"Good evening, fellas!" he roared.

The crowd roared back at him.

"That's the spirit! I'm Lance, a junior high school student. I can give you my number after I sing you my own." He stopped to wink and give a flying kiss, making almost all women in our batch swoon. "I thank our dearest club leader for allowing me to do this. How about a round of applause for her?"

The crowd applauded.

"Thank you, Sammy, for giving me this favor." He turned to Sammy who had just blushed. "All right then! I won't take much of my time talking. I'll try my best to keep this short. Please empty the center, fellas."

They did. They moved backward just enough to form a big circle in the middle.

"Now may I call on my fellow batchmates, Ethan Richards and Kaitlyn Calloway and ask them to stand on the center of our dance floor."

What! What is he doing! What's his game!

In a flash, Ethan was behind me, leading me to the dance floor. I felt every stare on us, including Lucy's cold stare.

"Ladies and gentlemen, what's a good performance without good dancers, right?"

The crowd howled in agreement.

"He's crazy!" I blurted.

"This is the first time I liked his game," Ethan said, chuckling.

The music began to play. Ethan looked at me as we familiarized the song. It was James Arthur's famous ballad. "Say You Won't Let Go."

Was it just me or the song coincidentally has fitted my current situation with Ethan?

For the first few seconds, all we did was stare at each other and laugh until Ethan circled around me and began to dance. I smiled at him and joined him.

The crowd screamed when he hugged me from behind and swayed with him. Then he turned me around to face each other. We ended the music in that position -- my body pressed to his, my face in his hands, smiles obvious in our mouths.

Before I could stop him, he kissed me. I tried to pull away but he kissed deeper, forcing me to open my mouth. I gave in and kissed him back. The crowd went silent.

When we pulled, the crowd cheered and became outrageous. Screams and whistles became louder. I quickly searched for Lucy but I did not find her. When I faced him, he surprised me with his intent look at me.

"What are you doing! Lucy's gone! Look for her!" I exclaimed at him.

But he did not move.

"Ethan, chase your girlfriend!"

"Time is up, pal. Time to leave." It was Lance who had patted Ethan's shoulder.

He grabbed my hand and tried to lead me out but Ethan pulled my other hand.

"Don't make it harder for both of you," Lance calmly warned.

Ethan turned to look at me. He did not say anything but I knew he was searching for an answer. I shook my head. He had groaned before he let go of my hand and walked away. I watched him walk away.

I swallowed and punched my chest over and over again to calm myself from the impending pain of my heart.
