I chased him until he stopped at the hallway. He turned around and walked to me. He grabbed my hand tightly and led me inside one of the classrooms. He pushed me to the cold wall and glared at me.

"You're my problem, Kitty," he breathed out.

"What did I do wrong this time?" I demanded.

"You're flirting with Lance," he hissed. "I don't like it."

"We're just fooling around," I explained. "I don't say a word when you flirt with Lucy."

"She's my girlfriend. Is Lance your boyfriend now?"

I scoffed. "You are not, either."

His frown got deeper but did not speak.

"I will flirt with whoever I want to flirt with, Ethan. You can't and you shouldn't stop me," I told him.

His jaw clenched. "You'd rather lose me than Lance or any other guy you flirt with. Is that it, Kitty?"

I swallowed and looked away. I took a moment to take a deep breath and think of what to say. Until finally, I peered back at him and sighed.

"I've already lost you since you've gone out with Lucy," I muttered.

He cursed and punched the glass window hard. His expression changed in pain. When I had angled my side to his hand, I saw it bleeding.

"Let's get your hand -- "

"Lucy is my girlfriend, Kaitlyn! Why can't you get that!" he exclaimed.

My eyes widened in horror. He's furious. He never calls me with that name unless I've done he truly disliked, but I couldn't console him. His words caused my heart to contract and tighten.

I get it...

Still aching, I looked at him fiercely, hoping tears won't pool my eyes.

"And I'm just your best friend, Ethan. So why can't you get that? Why can't you get it that I was never yours in the first place and I would never be yours since the moment you've drawn the line I can never cross anymore?"

His eyes widened at my outburst. I didn't care. I've had enough. I was hurting too much. I needed to let go.

Then it began to sting me harder. I closed my eyes in pain and placed my fist on my chest. Damn. It hurt badly.

"Kitty, are you -- "

"Don't," I stopped him when he was trying to reach me with his hand. "You drew the line and moved forward. I will not cross it so back off."

"Kitty -- "

"I said back off!"

I began to cry. The sting became much more painful. Worsened because of the sight of the man I thought I would grow old with.

I turned around and quickly came out of the room. I hit my chest over and over again because of the increasing pain.

I tried to make my way to the clinic and ask for some painkillers, but as I did, my whole body weakened. My vision became blurry. This stress crap has really gotten into me.

I heard Ethan calling out to me. I wanted to run but my feet failed me. I passed out again.
