Chapter 10
Tristan’s POV
I watched as Rene closed the binder and passed me a copy of my agreement in a clear file folder. I thanked him and turned to look at Leon who seemed to supress a smile. His eyes caught up with mine and he blushed.
“Why are y—“ I started but he quickly dismissed me with a wave of a hand which cupped the side of his face later.
“Sorry,” he replied. “I’m just happy,” he said.
I smiled and my heart swelled at that. “Are you staying for lunch, Tristan?” Rene’s voice snapped me out of my trance. I looked at him as he pushed the cabinet door where he kept all of the files in Leon’s office at his home.
“Are you doing anything today?” Leon asked. I shook my head, not remembering anything else. “Then, you’re staying?” Rene asked again, standing next to Leon’s chair. His bright yellow hair was combed neatly to the back, exposing his forehead which had barely thin lines hiding his real age. “Yes,” I answered.
He smiled at that and walked to leave the room. “Where’s Saul?” I quickly asked before he closed the door. He twitched at that and turned to look at me.
“He has another assignment today. He’ll be back in a few days. I’m afraid you have to excuse his absence, Tristan,” he said. My mouth formed an ‘O’ and nodded my head. He smiled at me and closed the door.
“He’s upset,” I said, looking straight at Leon. His eyes widened. “He is?” he got up from his seat and walked around the desk to lean on it in front of me.
“Is it your power again?” he asked. I shrugged. “Maybe,” I answered. I turned my head to look at the door. “How long are you going to keep Saul away from Rene this time?”
Leon sighed and knelt down in front of me, his hands on my knees. “Saul’s not our Senior Officer of PR for no reason. He’s good at negotiating and discussing about things people do not normally talk about. It’s necessary for him to meet our clients and customers few times a week.” I nodded my head, understanding that. “But it pains Rene the most. I feel like…” I started.
He eyed me, squeezing my knees to let me continue. “I feel like…he feels neglected. I know it sounds weird and moreover he’s in his 40’s but…you know? It’s not good for him. It’s not good for both of them. I believe Rene would never say anything to you but has Saul said something?” I stared down at him.
His hands reached up to my cheeks and he rubbed them with his thumbs tenderly. He pulled me down so he could kiss my lips.
“You’re amazing. Saul did talk to me about it this morning. Actually, I agreed to tone down his oversea assignments and let others to take over. He’ll be back on Tuesday,” he said, smiling. I can’t help and beamed. “Does Rene know?”
He shook his head. “From the looks of it Saul didn’t manage to tell him. Well, do you want to tell him?”
I gripped at his hands nodding my head. “He should be happy!” Leon laughed at that and kissed my cheek. “Go, then.”
I quickly dashed out of the room and searched for Rene. I knew he would be in the kitchen from the ‘feeling’ I had.
“Rene!” I exclaimed when I saw him writing something on the dining table.

Rene’s POV
My heart was thumping in my heart when I closed the door. Tristan was asking about Saul and I couldn’t help to feel a little frustrated that he wasn’t here. I knew it was work and it was necessary for him to go but it was supposed to be our weekend.
