xxi. woman on the road

Vanessa's POV

I WOKE UP exactly 7:00 in the evening. Woah, I over slept. I stood up and fix my hair. After that, I walked towards the couch and there I saw Eric, sleeping on the couch while the television is on.

Napailing ako at kinuha ang kumot mula sa kwarto ko. I covered his body using my blanket. Poor him, he has been enduring the cold since earlier.

I walked in to my room again and starts to dress up. Since, I don't have anything to do maybe I'll visit Lennox. I'll alsi buy food for Eric who's sleeping peacefully right now.

"QUEEN!" Jamie hugged me "Kakadating ko lang dito, how about you?" She asks me

"Nah. I just got here." I roamed my eyes around "Where are they?" I asked her "Nasa loob si Cathy, Queen. Bibili lang muna ako ng kape para sa inyo." She says, I just smiled

"Pasok ka, Queen. Nandyan sila." I nodded as I walked in.

There I saw Dave who's sleeping. Cathy turned her back as she smiles at me "I'm glad you're here. Balita ko busy ka, Queen?"

"Yeah." I simply said and stares at Dave's condition. He has a lot of bruises and wounds, plus the gunshot I gave him. "I slept and I've decided to visit him."

"How's Dave?" I asks

"Okay naman, Queen. Kailangan daw magpahinga pa lalo." Lumapit ito kay Dave at hinawakan ang buhok n'ya. "Salamat nga pala sa prutas kanina," she says

I nodded "Yeah." I cleared my throat "Aren't you going home?" I asks "I heard you've been staying here since morning,"

She chuckles "Ayos lang, Queen. Gusto ko s'yang bantayan at alagaan." She says as I chuckles "You really love him, don't you?"

She nodded slowly as she bites her lip "Oo." She stares at me "I really love him,"

I sighed as I look at Dave. "Wake up already, Lennox." I stared at Cathy "You still have an unfinished task here." I smirks at Cathy as her brows furrowed

'Oh honey, he's going to propose.'

"Anyways, hindi din ako magtatagal dito." Sabi ko, "I have to go back to my unit, Eric's staying there. Sleeping, to be more specific."

Napatayo siya, "Ihahatid na kita, Queen." I shooked my head "No, it's fine. Just take care of Lennox," I say "I just came here to check his condition."

"Sigurado ka, Queen?" I nodded

WHILE DRIVING back to my unit, I tried to call my uncle but unfortunately he's not answering. Maybe, he's kinda busy having fun there.

I can see the moon as well as the stars in the night skies. There are no other vehicles on the road, but mine. I was busy staring at the beautiful night to the point that I did not notice that there is a person in front of my car.

I immediately step on the brake before I hit her. She has a gun and its pointing on my direction, my brows furrowed. Who's this bitch?

I get out of my car to confront her, "What the hell is your problem? You're blocking my way!" I exclaimed

"Mafia Queen," she smirks. Her eyes are glaring at me "Kamusta naman ang pagpapahirap mo sa kapatid ko?"

"What are you talking about?" My forehead creased "Are you insane? I don't even know what you're trying to say!" I say,

"This is your last night, Mafia Queen." She walked towards me and put the mouth of her gun on my forehead. "Papatayin kita."

I smirked "Then try me."

Third Person's POV

KAAGAD HINABLOT ni Vanessa ang baril na nakatutok sa kaniyang noo at walang awang pinukpok sa ulo ng babaeng nakakatakot ang itsura. Her eyes are deadly, and by looking at her. She seems dangerous.

Kapantay nito si Vanessa, kung titignan. Sinamaan nito ng tingin si Vanessa at sinakal, ang isang kamay niya ay ginamit niya para makuha ang baril na hawak ni Vanessa ngunit habang sinasakal niya ito ay sinakal din siya ni Vanessa.

Mas mahigpit, mas masakit.

That girl kicked Vanessa's knee making her almost kneel on the road. Vanessa glared at her and stood up once again. Lumapit ito muli sa babae hinablot ang buhok. She gripped on her and say, "What do you want from me?" Hinihingal niyang tanong

"I want you, dead." She says. Binaligtad niya ang pwesto nila ni Vanessa kung kaya't magkaharap na sila. "Hindi ko hahayan na ang kapatid ko lang ang mamatay, dahil isasama kita!"

Tinulak nito si Vanessa at tinutukan ito ng baril. She pulled the trigger that made Vanessa's eyes widened.

Tinamaan ito sa balikat na ikinangisi ng babae. Ngunit, nagawa niya pading tumayo. She clenched her fist. Hindi ito makakapayag na dahil sa isang babae na hindi niya kilala ay magtatapos na kaagad ang buhay niya.

Tumakbo muli si Vanessa at dahil nagkabaligtad sila ng pwesto. Nasa likod ng babae ang sasakyan ni Vanessa.

Hindi nag dalawang isip ang reyna na gawin ang nasa isip niya. She jumped on the woman's chest making her lay in front of the car.

Ngayon, nakatayo sa sasakyan si Vanessa at sinakal mula sa likod ang babae. "Who do you work for, huh?! Answer me!"

Hindi makasagot ang babae, kinuha ni Vanessa ang kutsilyo mula sa kaniyang sapatos. Hindi na ito nag dalawang isip na itarak ito sa dibdib ng kalaban.

Ngunit nabigo siya, dahil nahila siya pababa nito. Ngayon, nakahiga sa daan si Vanessa habang nasa taas niya ang babae. Nakangisi ito "Sa tingin mo, matatalo mo ako?" She chuckles

"Paalam, mahal na reyna."

With that she pulled the trigger as Vanessa closes her eyes, but before she completely close her eyes and drift to sleep she uttered something,

"A-axel,"
