"Eren!!!!" Hanji called, grinning, "do you have a second?!?!"

Eren grimaced, "yeah...? What do you need?" Already dreading the answer, Eren got off his 'bed' in the dungeon, putting down his old book. He left his 'room' to see the mad scientist already there, bouncing on her toes.

"Experiments! Of course!!!" Hanji explained, as she grabbed Eren's arm and pulled him towards her lab. "I want to test something out. No biggie! All you have to do is sleep! That's it! See?! Easy!" Eren wasn't so sure, but nodded, and followed her. It's not like he had a choice.

Once they entered the lab, Hanji had eren sit on a small examining table, of some sort. And she started hooking Eren up on wires, whistling happily. "Here. Drink this to calm your nerves." Hanji handed Eren a 'cup' of 'water' to drink. Eren was again skeptical, but did as he was told, and drank the clear substance. Immediately becoming drowsy, he lied down on the bed, closing his eyes and letting sleep over take him. As he slept, Hanji was able to watch his dreams.

"Let GO!! Dad!!! Please!!! I don't want to!! Please don't make me!!" A small child sobbed, weakly attempting to pull away, but was to little to do anything to help himself.

"No! I perfected the serum, it's PERFECT. Now stay STILL." Another, older man yelled. He grabbed the child by the arm, and pulled him towards him. Holding a large needle, a gleam in his eye. The boy tried one more futile attempt to pull away, but there was no effect. Finally, he gave up and excepted his fate. The sweet looking child held out his arm, whimpering. The man chuckled, "there's a good boy. Thank you, Eren."

"You're welcome.... dad..." Eren whispered, as his dad placed the needle under the first few layers of the skin. "Ow! Owie!! Dad! It's hurting! Make it- make it stop!" The child was sobbing again, and slowly started to change.

"NO!" Eren shot up, the effects of the drink no longer prominent. Hanji watched Eren for a few seconds, and stood up, unhooking the wires from Eren.

"I-I'm sorry... I-I didn't know...." Hanji whispered. Eren sat in silence for a few seconds. About to speak, when a person knocked on the door. Hanji looked up in surprise, and opened the door. "Oh. Hello Shorty, what can I do for you?" Levi just responded with a 'tch' and walked in, not caring.

"Someone screamed. It caused a disturbance. What did you do?" Levi said, almost emotionless.

"Nothing. Just running some tests." Hanji explained, a little shaken over what she witnessed from Eren. "Right, titan baby?"

Levi turned his attention to Eren, who was shaking on the bed, not responding. Eren's dream had never felt so real. It was one of the most scariest times for Eren to go through. "What did you do, Hanji?" Levi tried not to sound too concerned, even though he was worried. Hanji didn't notice for once, though.

"Nothing. I'll tell you later." Hanji said, not wanting to let Eren know what she had seen.

Levi understood immediately, "Jaeger. Get out." Eren automatically stood up and left, still shaking in his boots. Once the door closed, Levi turned back to Hanji, tapping his foot. "Well?"

And Hanji preceded to tell Levi all about what she saw in the dream. By the end of it, Levi was frowning. "Maybe you should go talk to him?" Hanji suggested, "comfort him, even."

"No." Levi said.

"Oh come on!! You're the best person for the job!!!" Hanji pressed

"Why?"

"Eren... looks up to you. Just make sure he's okay and you'll be free. Besides, he's your responsibility." Hanji declared, pushing Levi out. "Now go." Levi rolled his eyes, but went to look for Eren as Hanji had suggested.

Levi looked everywhere and finally found the kid in the dungeon, silent tears on his face. "Hey. Brat. You alright?" Levi asked, walking towards Eren. "Never seen you so jacked up."

Eren looked up in alarm,"hello, sir... I'm ... I'm fine. Thank you."

Levi sighed and sat down next to Eren, "do you.... want to talk about it....?" Levi asked awkwardly, not knowing how to handle this, at all. Eren smiled at the captain's feeble attempt.

"I'm okay... just... Nightmares." He responded, looking down. Levi nodded understandingly, having nightmares whenever he slept, which wasn't often because of him being an insomniac. "I usually have a hard time sleeping because of it...."

Levi frowned, concerned, "you need sleep, Eren. We don't need our last hope dying because of stupidity."

Eren nodded, "I know...."

"Try to go to bed." The Raven told Eren

The younger one nodded, and lied down, covering himself with the thin blankets. Levi nodded, satisfied. He stood up to leave him alone, when a hand grabbed his own. "W-wait." Eren licked his lips nervously, "w-will you stay...? Just until I fall asleep. Then. Well... I wouldn't know... would I...? Um... never mind. Just forget it...." Eren quickly turned around, his back on Levi.

Levi gave a 'tch brat.' And lied down, no words were spoke that night. As though both were asleep.

And, of course, they were.
