Time Capsule Part 2

Nothing was said as Eren gently pulled out a key and a scarf of some sort. He examined them with great interest, before he passed it to Levi, who also studied them.

Finally, Hanji couldn't help herself and took the things from Levi, holding the key triumphantly, "this must have been the thing that set the metal detector off! I told you it was good!" She laughed, and looked at them closely, excited as always.

Eren chuckled and looked through some more, suddenly freezing at the sight of something that Levi couldn't quite make out yet. All it looked like was a kinda faded picture of some sort, only saved by the dry darkness of the box.

He started to hand it to Levi, when Hanji got curious and, again, took it out of his hand instead, looking at it closely, before she gasped and looked up, "No way. No. Way. That's so weird!" Hanji looked back and forth from the picture to her friends, gears turning.

Levi finally took it from Hanji, and looked at it himself. To be honest, it seemed he was looking at himself in the process.

The three of them all shifted their positions to see the small picture, and stared in awe.

The picture was of Eren and Levi holding hands, them facing the camera. Eren was sticking his tongue out at Levi playfully, one of Levi's eyebrows raised, Levi smirking lightly.

The next picture was almost the same, but Levi's tongue was in contact of Eren's, as if he had licked Eren's to make him flustered.

Eren grew hot at the image, he had always thought Levi was hot, but never thought about dating him.

Levi also felt embarrassed of the picture. For reasons he didn't understand quite yet.

Hanji went through more pictures, seeing one of her taking a 'selfie' with Eren and Levi making out in the background, Levi holding up his middle finger to the camera.

Hanji laughed, and turned to show Eren, but paused when she saw he was holding something.

It was letters.

One had said, "to Heichou from your brat" the other had said, "to the brat from your Captain" he started to open the one with "to the brat" first, taking out the frail parchment, and started to read.

Dear insufferable Brat.

If you're reading this then you're a cheater. It was you who said not to read each others letters, way to follow your own rules. Look. I'm not very good with words. I don't really know how express my feelings towards you... All I know is that somehow, I came to fall in love with you. I remember when I first knew, it was special to me.

You see, it was at the very beginning, in the court at the trial. It was the day that you showed me you were really willing to do what it takes to win. You were powerful and determined. Even if you were really obnoxious.

And I apologize to you for every time I hurt you.

Eren, You have stolen my heart, and I don't mind one bit. You have given me strength in the field. When my squad had all had an end, you comforted me. You make me so happy. I know... I don't really show it, but whenever you speak, my heart skips three beats. And every time you approach me, I soar. You say never let go, and I'm willing to have an iron grip, all for you, my love.

You care for me. I'm happy I'm able to care for you.

While Eren read, Levi had picked up the other letter written to "Heichou" he opened it up, and read to himself.

Dear Levi,

I honestly don't mind you're reading this. It makes me glad you wanted to know, and there's no harm in that.

Levi, I love you.

It's three powerful words that we say everyday. We use it so often, we may forget the meaning, but that's how it goes. Darling, it's not just you I love.

I love the way you sleep, even if it's rarely.

I love the way you drink your tea.

I love the way that when you get cold, you cuddle and get mood swings.

I love the way you stay calm on the outside, but have that cold fire in your eyes.

I love the way you lead our squad.

I love they way you're the most emotional person I've met.

I love your hair.

Your eyes.

Your smiles and smirks.

Most of all.

I love you.

When I said it's not just you I love, I mean that there's no just you. You are so many different pieces of a puzzle that I will forever be solving and building up, keeping safe so you don't brake in a million pieces again.

You are a kind a generous person.

Levi, I don't just love you.

I'm completely, deeply, truly in love with every little piece of you.

Levi and Eren both look up at each other in sync, unblinking.

Did they still feel this way? Even after lifetimes had past?

Hanji watched in excitement as they lean in and kiss deeply, expressing all their emotions in that single motion.

The answer? There was no doubt of their still love for each other.
