“This ring is a token of our love and a symbol of our promise that you would help our child, our creation as best as you can. You promise to love, care, and guide, teach, protect and stay with him as a father should do.
This ring will remind of me and the promise that you are going to make to me.
Do you promise all the things I said before to me…..?” she asked him with hopeful eyes staring at Caladrius’s blank ones.

Caladrius just looked in her eyes. It was difficult not to deny. Not because she was asking for her last wish, but he has to cope the eternity with the reason that killed her. As if sensing storm going inside him, Rebekah slightly squeezed his hands that were now cupping her face. If he promised her this, then she could at least die without worrying about her son. She knew even for a monster, Caladrius always kept his words.
With every swirl of emotions leaking from her eyes as tears, Caladrius nodded, pursing his lips into thin line. He still looked unconvinced and doubts his decision. But he had made the promise and it was enough for Rebekah. With full-blown grin and tears of relief and happiness, she hugged Caladrius for dear life. If Caladrius hasn’t been the King of Evil, he would have been dead by the strong grip Rebekah was holding him with.
