A while ago I watched a movie called We Bought A Zoo. In the movie, the father's motto was 20 seconds of courage. Whenever you feel like something is impossible or you just aren't strong enough, you take twenty seconds and do anything. Twenty seconds is all it takes to change your life forever. For better, or for worse.
Twenty seconds is enough time to pull the trigger. But twenty seconds is also enough time to put down the gun, call a friend or somebody else important to you, and tell them you love them.
In twenty seconds you could ask out the person who makes you smile brighter than the sun.
You could make a new friend, or find a new lover, or save a life.
You could stand up for the kid getting bullied. You could talk someone off a bridge. You could throw away the pills and the blades. You could save a life. You could be a hero.
If you're afraid, then time it. Twenty seconds. It's all you need to change a life forever.
