A few days later....
I'm going to propose to Lani, again.
I watched her as she struggled to get her shoes on her feet while balancing on the bottom step. A small chuckle escaped my mouth as she groaned in frustration at dropping her bag. I pick it up for her.
She kissed me softly and smiled. "So, where are you taking me?"
"You'll see." I smile, kissing her back.
"No fair," she muttered, looking at me through her lashes. I kiss her and we get in the car.
The whole way there she wouldn't stop questioning me about where we were going. "Lani-bear," I said, groaning. "Please, can it just be a surprise?"
"Fine," she crossed her arms over her chest and smiled at me.
"Thank you!" I exclaim.
She grinned cheekily at me. "Where are we?" she asked once she looked out the wind shield of the car.
"Really Lani-bear? You don't recognize it?"
I saw her blink in surprise then quickly jump out the car. "Let's go, let's go!" she called cheerfully. I chuckle and get out and help her out. She gripped my hand and pulled me down the beach. "I can't believe we're here."
"I know you love it here, and well I do too."
I looked down at her just before she pulled me into a tight hug. "Thank you," she murmured before skipping further down the beach. I watched her for a moment before following behind her. Once she finally stops, she smiles and closes her eyes.
I hugged her against my chest and grinned. "I love you, Lani-bear."
"Love you, too, Owen," she told me quietly, tiptoeing to kiss me. I pull out of the hug and get down on one knee. Lani looked at me in surprise but then grinned. "Lani, I love you so much. Will you marry me?"
"Yes! Of course!" I grinned and pulled her into a hug after slipping the ring onto her finger. She holds onto me tight. "This is why you wanted to wait?"
I nodded and kissed her neck. "I wanted it to be special."
"You're so sweet Owen."
"I know," I chuckled and kissed along her jaw to her lips. She kisses me back and immediately deepens the kiss. She pushed me back onto the sand and grinned at me.
"What are you thinking Lani-bear?" I raise my eyebrow.
"I'm thinking about the wedding," she told me honestly, grinning. "The twins will look so cute." I smile and pull her as close as I can.
We watched the sun set and then spent another hour talking about the wedding and our future. When she starts getting tired I pick her up and carry her to the car.
She wrapped her arms around my neck. "I don't want this night to end," she murmured against my shoulder.
"I know Lani-bear, but you're tired, you need to rest."
"I'm sure I can stay awake for a little longer," she said quietly, grinning. I chuckle and peck her lips before putting her in my car.
