A few weeks later...
I take a breath. Lani and I are getting married today. Finally after all this time.
Matt tugged on my hand. I looked down at him from my reflection to see him grinning. "Married," he said, picking up the word from around him.
I smile and pick him up. "Are you ready Matty?"
"Mummy and daddy, married!" he clapped his hands together and laughed.
I kiss his forehead. "That’s right bud."
"Nicky," he said, frowning, his head whipping around to search for his sister. "Jenny!" he called, his face lighting up. I chuckle and see Jake walking over to us, Jenny in his arms. "Jenny!" Matt repeated, waving his arms until Jenny looked at him and grinned.
"Someone looks happy," Jake commented, his eyes flicking between me and Matt.
"Yeah." I chuckle.
He grinned and slapped my back. "You have exactly twenty minutes before you need to be down the aisles," he told me, shifting Jenny in his arms. "We better get going, Sam's parents need to have her seated."
I nod. "How are my girls?" I ask curious.
He chuckled. "How do you think?" he asked before walking away. I take a breath and hug Matt.
Matt's hand landed on my cheek softly, when I lowered my eyes to his, he smiled. "You ready to go?" I ask him, fixing his little tie. He nods. "Okay Matty, here we go." I kiss his forehead and walk out of the room. Jake appeared beside my side, a smile on his face. "You have lipstick on your mouth," I tell him quietly before heading towards the front of the church, my heart going into overdrive. He wipes it off quickly and tells me he'll see me soon.
Matt wiggled in my arms. "Mummy?" he asked, looking around and frowning. I pushed his long hair off his forehead and smiled down at him.
"She'll be walking down soon, Matty."
"Nick-y?" he frowns more.
"She'll be walking down the aisles with your mummy," I tell him, kissing his forehead. "Just a few more minutes," I say, my eyes widening. I had a few more minutes until Lani would be here and we would be married. He holds onto me tight and rests his head on my shoulder. The music began and instantly my stomach clenched. Here we go, I thought silently. Matty lifts his head off my shoulder and looks around for his sisters and his mummy.
"Look at the end of at aisles, Matty," I whisper to him. He followed my gaze and grinned. "Don't shout," I told him just in time. He looks at me, smiles and then returns his gaze to where it was.
Jake slapped my arm as he stood by my side. "Good luck," he whispered as he walked past. I nodded but my eyes were glued to the entrance, waiting for Lani to walk through with Nicole. I see Sam and she's walking with Nicole... Lani must have Danielle.
"Breath," Jake murmured to me. I blinked and sucked in a deep breath as I saw Lani walk into the church. "Wow, she looks amazing."
"I know," I said back. Matt wiggled in my arms.
"Mummy," he said, trying to get down.
"You can get down in a minute buddy." I whisper.
"Mummy," he said quietly, his bottom lip wobbling. I kissed his forehead.
"You can go to her in a second, Matty. She needs to walk down the aisles," I tell him, not taking my eyes off the beautiful girl walking towards me. She smiles at me and his smile gets bigger as she reaches me. I glance at Matty for a second and he's wiggling around some more.
