Over the next two days, Lani picked up on my anxious state but she didn't comment on it. It wasn't until I was leaving to meet Sam that she questioned what was wrong. I told her nothing was wrong; she didn't believe me but she let me go. So here I was, standing in front of the hospital with Sam by my side.

I take her hand in mine and we head inside.

"Hello, we're here to see Dr. Michaels," Sam tells the nurse, who nodded and tapped something on her keyboard. A passing doctor gave me a startled look and I realized it was Lani's doctor, Dr. Andrews.

"It'll be okay Sam." I squeeze her hand. She's on the verge of tears.

"Dr. Michaels is in the room just down the hall. Knock on the door and go in, she's waiting for you," the nurse said, smiling sadly at Sam.

"Thank you," she whispered before walking down the hallway, dragging me along with her. Once there Sam knocks on the door.

"Come in!" the doctor called. Sam pushed open the door and took a seat. "Hello, you must be Sam. And you are?"

"I'm Owen," I say, shaking her outstretched hand.

"I understand there's a slight problem," the doctor said, looking at her computer screen. "You want to know the father of your baby?"

"Yeah," Sam said quietly, nodding.

"Alright well we'll need DNA samples." We nodded and thirty minutes later she had DNA samples from both me and Sam. "You'll have to give us a few hours," she said, smiling at us. "We'll phone you with the news."

We get up and walk out. Sam and I get in my car. "What do you want to do while-" she was cut off by my phone ringing. I frowned and took it out.

"Hello?"

"Owen...."I hear Lani scream. "She's coming. Now."

"Lani?" I sat up straight. "What do you mean? What's going on?"

"Where are you?" she gasped out. "I need to go to the hospital, now!"

"Shit." I speed home and into the house. I get the twins and put them in their car seats then I have Sam move into the back. I run into the House and carry Lani out and put her in the front and speed to the hospital. As I ran up to the nurse’s desk, I told her that Lani was going into labour. The nurse quickly got up and brought a wheel chair around for Lani to sit in. Sam was saying words of encouragement for Lani. Lani is screaming and they take her in while Sam and I get the twins.

"I'll look after them, go in!" Sam said, shoving me towards the door. I nodded and ran after the nurse pushing Lani along.

Lani screams and grabs my hand. "You'll be okay," I tell her again and again. "Breath, Lani." The nurse gave me a small smile as I tried to comfort Lani. "Is it normal for her to go into labour this early?"

"Yes, most don't usually carry to the full term, but you have no need to worry." I breathed out and nodded. I would be here for Lani, even if she was screaming at me to get away. After a bit Lani is ready and about to kill me. She wants the baby out. The nurse patted my shoulder as she walked pass to assist the other nurse, who was trying to calm Lani down. I let Lani grip my hand, promising her that I would never let go. After another few minutes it’s time for Lani to start pushing.

"You're going well, Lani," the nurse said, encouraging her to continue. "Just a few more pushes." Lani does as she says and our little girl is born.

Lani panted as she flopped back. I pushed her hair back and kissed her forehead. "Congratulations, baby," I whispered.

She smiles at me and squeezes my hand. The nurse places our baby girl in Lani’s hands. She's small but she was born about a month early. "I can't believe it," she murmured, running her finger down our baby's cheek.
