Chapter 3- Let Me Go.
Lauren's POV.
Don't you just hate tall bullies?
"Give me back my book!" I shout for the second time now.
Almost everyone is looking now, seeing a little girl that they probably never noticed in school before, jumping in the air to reach for her book. My book is in the big hands of the most annoying boy in our school. To say it nice he is a man-whore and a bully in my eyes. He is way taller than me and he was one of the persons that noticed me in the past years of school. He always steals my stuff that I work for or he is being annoying like now.
"If you were longer, you could get it back yourself." He says with a husky voice in my ear for only me to hear, but obviously the gossip girls from our school must have heard it. They hear everything.
Everything.
"Just give it back, now!" I say as I jump higher than I did before and felt a small breeze on my bare hips making me hiss in pain again. The pain didn't heal yet and is still sore. And my bruises were still noticeable this morning. I immediately quit jumping and continued shouting. My hands on the hem of my baggy jumper keeping it down and holding on my hip to keep myself from falling on the ground and cry in pain. Digging my nails in my hem and biting my lip for a quick second.
"Just please give my dammit book!" I say after a while. My patient is gone by now. I can't jump anymore. My mind not concentrated on my book anymore, but more on the pain. I didn't think about the pain and didn't really feel it, until now, again. Now I know that my jumper will show my bare hips, my bruised hips, if I jump higher. I can only ask for my book back, but would the jock listen for once? No he wouldn't.
"Jack! Give her, her book back." A voice says from behind me. The eyes from some students widen and so did mine. My heart skipped a beat and I could hear every single movement now. Students gasping at the presence of Zayn behind me and actually helping me against the school's jock.
"Why should I do that? This is way more fun." Jack says laughing and only a few students chuckle on his, what he thinks is a, joke. while others grab their phones to record everything. I just stood there, frozen in my place with one question going through my mind.
'Why is Zayn helping me?'
Zayn's POV.
Walking towards my locker to put my books in and finally go back home, I noticed a small crowd in one of the hallways and recognised a voice.
Lauren's voice.
I only heard her voice yesterday. And that made her voice stick in my mind somehow. She was shouting things and from what I heard she was jumping as well.
I made my way towards the crowd and pushed some of the students away to have a better view. And I was right. Lauren was jumping with her arms in the air trying to reach for her mysterious notebook. She was shouting and people in the crowd were laughing.
And that is when I notice it. Lauren jumps higher than she did before and her jumper reaches her belly button. And that is when I finally see a peek of her hips, her bruised hips. It had a little reddish colour and that was mixed with some purple colour on some places. Lauren quit jumping, probably noticing that and I could feel a shot of pain that went through her body. She looked down for a second before looking up again.
"Just please give my dammit book!" She says with a demanding voice, but the idiot isn't listening to her. Lauren isn't jumping anymore knowing that it is a waste and I can't stand it anymore. I can't stand seeing her there standing with a crowd around her and seeing her in pain.
